The disgust blog has an entry from several months ago on a site's exit from the sandbox via a 301 re-direct to a new subdomain at an existing TLD. Pretty stark evidence of the box's effects and a good solutiong for those in desperate need of a way out. Here's the graph showing the traffic patterns after the re-direct was spidered by GG.

So let say I have a site around a year old that gets good SERPS in the other 2 SEs and gets minor SERPS in GG. Woul d it make sence to go out and get a new domain and 301 the whole thing to newdomain.com?
This is interesting indeed.
I wonder what the topical differences were between the domain that was 301'ed and the new domain? If the domain in which the subdomain is hosted has no relevancy to the website they moved - that's extremely interesting.
