Hey folks, I need some help here. This is my first personal rant at SEOmoz and is not about SEO directly (so anyone looking for tips here should read randfish posts, by all means he's the holy wizard!).
I need you help with one of our project. Let's say that it does gets exciting, there is a possibility to materialize great ideas from all of our readers by offering an open tribune to create a project partly from our readers ideas and suggestions. This post is about Yodivi (a brand of an upcoming new videoblog startup) and is a first time experiment for me and NVI, my seo/sem/web design company, to offer production & step-by-step insights about one of our ongoing project. But... wait a minute, here's what its all about:
The challenge: Combine the best elements of the videoblog environment together and add new attractive twists and added content/value to an emerging 2.0 media.
Guess what? You can be a part of it! This is a "open to all great ideas by anyone interested in improving our Internet experience" project! Having SEOmoz's philosophy in mind, I would be very honoured to offer the community an opportunity to give all of their suggestions directly to the creative team BEFORE any conceptualization is done about which elements and modules should be put together if you were ever to build a "Videoblog site of your dreams". This can offer a chance to any one of you to contribute to the project by sharing your thoughts!
Here's what I also offer as a added bonus. I got a permission from our client to share any part of the creative / design process of this new videoblog. This means that if I see some interest from the community and gather some great tips and suggestions, I could be doing some kind of a "ongoing report" by giving feedback to the community about what made the final cut and get realtime feedback as the project evolves over the next 4-8 weeks.
This is an great opportunity to prove that we believe that end users should be a primary focus during development of a mass audience project. Thanks for any tips suggestions, wish lists, comments or ideas to give the community the best experience with personal video sharing on Internet.

Rand, your last link misses a "l" to work ;)
Thanks for the feedback, I was kinda expecting it! I will be posting our research results as the days go on... Like a post for all the available or yet-to-be-developped features, a post about videoblogs history, a post about the big videoblogs players, a post about the optimal design, a post about its viral aspect, etc.
That way, most of SEOmoz readers will be able to learn some valuable information about how the videoblog industry works while they see a real-time ongoing project being developped!
Stay tuned!
Guillaume - Can you list for us the features and benefits you currently see across the video search/blog environment?
Who are the big players? (Metacafe, Youtube, Google, Yahoo!)
What has driven growth?
Where are viral videos born?
What features make these sites attractive?
This data in the post would really help people to look across the competitive landscape and offer their insight. It's always best to provide valuable information and a robust appraisal before requesting input, IMO. Remember, the poor SEOmoz readers aren't getting paid :)
