I came across this banner ad from Yahoo! today and was a bit shocked. I love the raciness and implied issues with the genetalia of older men, but I hope Yahoo! is keeping these highly targeted as I could certainly imagine that it wouldn't play well with much of their demographic.
Sadly, I can't find any more banners in this series, but if you know of some, please do share. I'd love to see what else this campaign is doing.
UPDATE: Thanks to SherwoodSEO, I was able to grab the second ad - apparently, they've got a Yahoo! as "who-ha" theme going...
Found another Yahoo! Porno Ad. This is the one I originally saw on TechCrunch. :)
Snatched this from Techcrunch (pun intended):https://www.nccboston.com/yahoo-ad.png
Looks like her hairstylist forgot to finish cutting her hair. That's probably why she looks so sad.
It's a metaphor: life is incomplete without her Yahoo.
Haha, good one!
Fantastic work, Sherwood! I'm adding it to the blog :)
Saw it 2 minutes before seeing your post - had me rolling :)
So...asian ladies like their husbands to have good-looking Yahoo!s?
Hey EGOL,
Do you consider this ad "sexy"?
lol... Nope. That's not sexy.
My opinion of Yahoo! has slipped badly after seeing this ad... I hope that this ad was not being run by them and that one of their competitors posted it to stink up their image.
My opinion of them is actually up - they're being brave, taking a chance, being more innovative and less constricting on their creative side. Obviously, there's not a whole lot that offends me, and this certainly isn't one of them, but I'm excited at the possibility that Yahoo! is taking more risk - I hope it shows in their business side, too.
Just want to commemorate this rare moment when EGOL and I disagree on something :)
We disagree because I am old enough to be her husband!
EGOL,
There's no need to date yourself here. Rand has already brought you into the young world of hipdom...
