As most of you know, I'll be speaking next week at the San Jose SES conference. I'm going to be presenting slides (in Flash, not Powerpoint) for two sessions:
Search Algorithms: The Patent Files - 9:00am on Monday
I'll be discussing the recent Google patent - Information Retrieval Based on Historical Data and using humorous cartoons to help walk people through understanding the patent's most important areas of discussion - primarily the temporal analysis of links, domain data & ranking history & traffic/user data.
Site ECG - 1:45pm on Wednesday
I'm really excited about this one. I'll be speaking about why & how search engines seek to uncover manipulative techniques, the visible face of this - BLOOP & Google's Sandbox and algorithmic topic detection and site classification, including term weight.
I've opened a thread at SEW - as I noticed at the other SES conferences this subject was missing. I hope to see as many of you there as possible. I'll probably be wearing the yellow shoes again, so you can spot me that way if you don't recognize me first.
