Let's say I was training a new employee on AdSense and Overture SEM campaigns, and I'd like to have some good online resources to point them to. What would you recommend?
Yes, I know it's not technically a post, but it's a chance to use your hand coding HTML skills in the comment boxes ;)
Bill, thanks for pointing out my article.
A great landing page is such an important element of a successful campaign. Your article not only tells people how it's done well, it also shows them. And you not only explain how, but also why. :)
I'll definitely second Michael's suggestion on marketing research tools and copywriting. Writing a persuasive and compelling ad in a few short words isn't easy.
I'd recommend they spend some time at all the big forums - sew, cr8atsite, digitalpoint, seochat, etc. Also make sure to go through all the Google/Yahoo documentation.
Bill, thanks for pointing out my article.
Hi Rand,
One of my favorites in this area is an article by Michael Nguyen on landing pages:
11 Ways To Improve Landing Pages.
Another favorite is this roundtable interview featuring Ammon Johns , Andrew Goodman and Jim Banks, titled Pay-Per-Click Strategies for Search Engine Marketers. It's a five part interview, and I thought about pay-per-click in a completely different way after reading it.
