The onset of fall sharpens the air. Kids laboriously lug stacks of books and binders to class. Teachers puzzle over their lesson plans for the year. Lockers that were once empty now overflow with paper, and quiet hallways fill with the chatter of eager minds. School is finally back in session. In the spirit of fall and the start of school, we think it's a perfect time to open up Moz Academy to our community!
If you've never heard of Moz Academy, let me give you an earful! At Moz, we really want people to be awesome marketers so they can use our products in fun ways and make the Internet way cooler, with less spam and garbage content. We've got a ton of terrific instructors at Moz, but Moz Academy has so much SEO knowledge that it'll make teachers out of all of you!
Over the past year we've added more than 30 videos to Moz Academy. One of my favorite lesson plans shows off how you can use Moz Pro to help with your day-to-day marketing. We're also proud to offer a comprehensive Local SEO section that we built with our good friends over at LocalU.
To give you a sense for what we've got, we wanted to show you some of our favorite Academy lectures!
First up: Listen to Steve Martin look-alike Cyrus Shepard tell you how to size up your competition in Moz Pro—like a pro.
Next, listen to the mustached master of SEO, Rand Fishkin, instruct us on how to correctly implement redirects.
If you're into advanced filtering in Google Analytics, listen to Tim Resnik's explanation of how to segment your search traffic into verticals by pulling a parameter from the URLs in the SERPS.
Our own Jen "Don't call me J-LO" Lopez, gives us a crash course on measuring your social media efforts.
Finally, Mike Ramsey from Nifty Marketing can help you get a handle on creating local content.
Now that school is back in session we hope you're excited to start learning again. Please enjoy Moz Academy and share the lessons with folks learning SEO or trying to get a nice refresh.
Rand Described in Video about 301, 302, Canonical and Individual Pages Redirection and he explained very smoothly.
When i Seen Tim Resnik's video and it's very useful information because I tried many time to use filter but did not get success. Tim suggested some Vertical (Universal Search) and Code in the video, Can you please provide me that article Link? Because I want to read more about code and filter.
Probably I like “Mike Ramsey” Video because When i write content for my website and creating pages that time i'm very worried about "what users needs" and Mike gives me new ideas for create some Landing Pages and more Quality content, which content outcome is natural.

Thanks for sharing @MOZ Team. Amazing videos as usual. Nice recap of some of the basic fundamentals.
A lot of great ideas in the Local U video. I must have missed that one. Thanks for re-posting!
I'm feeling a bit naive and out of the loop! I think I've seen "Moz Academy" somewhere on the website but I've never clicked before. I need to check it out-- I use OSE a ton but I need to get better at using other tools more fully. !! Thank you!
What's best practice when an old page which has been long been removed but still has historical inbound links. These inbound links are causing 404's in Google webmaster tools so I want to 301 redirect. In some instances it is easy to know where the relevant content has been moved to and thus 301 to this page of our website. When there is no clear cut page on our current website containing the information these inbound links were linking to what is the best course of action? In the past I was told to 301 all of these to our homepage so not to lose the link juice but after watching your Best Practices For Redirects video it's looks like this might have a negative impact on our rankings. What is the best alternative?
That'd be a good question for our Q&A section at https://moz.com/community/q/.
Very Impressive Videos. I’m learning SEO, So this videos are very useful for me, Thanks Nick
There useful for everyone:) I'm not a newbie but learn a ton of great ideas. Our team gather's every Friday for an hour and goes over various videos, blog and, of course, whiteboard Friday. Well worth it!
Thanks for this new session Nick!! I'm gonna take notes this year :-)
MOZ Academy! it's a great idea to take SEO education one step ahead but is it a new concept by MOZ? I have already gone through another SEO Academy previously "SHI Academy". They are also added a nice concept of teaching SEO to the below poverty students free of cost. Isn't it a great idea to educate students about SEO?
As usual.. a great article to remind some of awesome videos.. I was looking into Local SEO at this point of time and LocalU video helps me to broaden the horizon and provides wonderful insight.
As always ..Moz Rocks .So are Mozies..;)
This is the education I wish I had prior to setting up my online business. The Moz Academy is a great resource for those involved in any sort of internet enterprise. In fact, given that almost all businesses must have an online presence to survive, Moz can be of value to everyone. There are over 30 videos that provide detailed, yet comprehensible, information about how to make the most of the internet for marketing purposes. Audiences learn how to optimize their websites from knowledgeable and cool instructors. After all, if a site does not show up in the first few pages of a search then it might as well not be there these days. Furthermore, Moz Academy teaches how to provide content that adds value to site visitors. Gone are the days when the search engines gave preference to websites that merely stuffed a bunch of keywords everywhere. In this new age of quality content, web administrators without proficiency in SEO can even face penalties from the major search engine algorithms. Moz can help alleviate this concern.
thank you! they are so helpful to me
