I'm pleased to announce that after quite a lull in guide publications, we've got 5 great guides on their way. Today we're launching one of them, The Professional's Guide to Blogging. Available in web and document format, the blogging guide provides an in-depth look at what blogging is and how a new blogger can create, write, and promote his or her own blog. Authored by blogging expert Tamar Weinberg, it covers how to choose an appropriate blogging platform and how to efficiently optimize your blog for search engines, plus it shares content strategies and viral campaign launches, lists blog analytic options, and gives promotion and monetization tips. The guide also includes two invaluable appendices that link out to great blogging resources, software, tools, and plugins.
If you're a PRO member, access to The Professional's Guide to Blogging is included in your cost of membership. If you're not a PRO member and would like to purchase the guide separately, it is available in the SEOmoz Store. Because this guide is extremely in-depth and clocks in at an impressive 70 pages, it will cost $39 + tax to purchase as a stand-alone item. Click here to buy The Professional's Guide to Blogging (I know, it's a crappy call to action).
Stay tuned for more upcoming guides:

- Page Rank Sculpting
- A New and Improved Link Building Guide
- The Updated Beginner's Guide to SEO
That Tamar girl is pretty cool.
Yeah, she remains quite humble as well. ;)
Definitely looking forward to reading this one. I might sacrifice half a tree and print it out - so much easier on the eyes, and I can make notes in the margins.
comment expert too?
No, not as good with comments.
Not to mention she's a NY'er - which makes her doubly cool. Can't wait to check out the guide. That's a pretty good list of material you're releasing. Nice work.
she is
Meh...
;)
I know I subscribe to "Shwag Addict", which she authors.
This is really an excellent guide, Tamar. Bravo on the great work. I was impressed to see such attention to detail, clear concise writing and coverage of every topic, tool, promotional tactic and platform under the sun.
Thanks so much for putting such a great project together.
Hey, no love for me? I had to read this thing like a dozen times while editing it! ;P
In all seriousness, Tamar did a great job with it. I was impressed with her writing quality and the overall professionalism of the guide. It's really, really good. Thanks, Tamar!
I love you
Like a whole lot
You are my fave Rebecca on SEOmoz
In any event any one needing to edit such a large document deserverse almost as much credit as the Author.
You may need to change the "thumb up" to "brownie point" for my post.
I love you Rebecca. Mostly because it's your birthday...
Oh wait.
Thanks, Rand and Becs and the rest of the 'moz crew for giving me the opportunity :)
I REALLY want to read that. Can't spring for the membership now. I guess I will have to pay my dues around here and hope to be annointed a Pro Member. ;)
It's worth it - even if you just sign up for a month to see if you like it. The Tips section is a great read when you first go PRO.
Thank you for offering the Professional Guide to Blogging. I have been thinking about headlines since the post on blog headllines but I have a long way to go towards improvement. We are launching a new company blog in September so this is great timing and I am sure will be well worth it.
Hey Rebecca! Early Happy birthday (august 6th).
Today was my birthday. :)
Happy birthday to you, then!
Thank you to Tamar, Rebecca and SEOmoz!
I found answers in your guide to questions I have about my new blog--and I've only scrolled to Section III.
Any News Update on the below 2 guides ?
1) A New and Improved Link Building Guide 2) The Updated Beginner's Guide to SEO
The link building guide needs to be edited and should be published within the next two weeks. The new Beginner's Guide will probably be up before the end of the year.
Thanks for the reply. But isnt The New Beginner's Guide completed already ? I thought so......Hmm...have to look at the previous posts then.
The New Beginner's Guide is being re-written in blog post installments. Rand has a couple more installments to write, then he'll compile the posts into an updated guide.
Well i will have to wait till I go pro.
Wow, the table of contents alone looks incredibly promising. Can't wait to explore the guide. Great job, Tamar!
I want to read that also, the guide for professional blogging. I want to know to advanced technique on how to be successful on my blogging
Awesome - had a quick flick through and the guide looks top notch! Good work Tamar + Rebecca.
Tamar who?
:)
ps - don't hurt me Tamar
Oh I will gobble this up and comment on it tomorrow, I am sure it is great.
If you're going to "gobble this up and comment on it tomorrow" as quickly as it takes you to send out a darn t-shirt that you've owed me since December 2007, I guess I'll have to check this post for your follow-up in 2010.
By the way, the shirt is no longer needed. David took care of me :P
I sure am in the process of being pro.
Nice one guys!! Thanks for this, I really dig the guides.
Thanks Tamar & Team!
I just printed it out and will take a look at it soon. I really enjoy reading all of the guides SEOmoz has in the Pro Section.
Wow,
Thanks team! This looks really interesting and exciting for someone so new to blogging as me!
