As the long holiday weekend draws to a close and we prepare to welcome a brand-new year, we at Moz just want to thank you all for a wonderful, fulfilling year on the blog. Your colorful commentary, delightful debates, thrilling thumbs-up, and vivacious visits have made the past twelve months sparkle and shine (and with that, I'll bid the alliteration adieu).
At the Moz HQ, we practice a multitude of holiday traditions. Whether it's Mozzers gathering in the common room (affectionately named "Roger") to light candles on the menorah during Hanukkah, trading and stealing gifts for the company-wide White Elephant exchange (someone won a bonafide Commodore 64 this year!), or getting our boogie and our board gaming on at the Moz holiday party, we try to honor this special season with a healthy mix of reverence and good old-fashioned fun.
The folks who come to our blog for digital marketing advice hail from almost every remote corner of the world (we know; we looked at our analytics ;). This week, when things tend to slow down and it's just a little more difficult than usual to get anyone to reply to your emails, we'd love to invite you to share your own unique tales and traditions in the comments. What's your favorite way to celebrate, in the office and at home? What mishaps and magical moments alike filled your days, and what's your resolution for 2018? Let's take a little breather as we gear up for all the new projects and responsibilities awaiting us just around the corner and share with each other; after all, that's what being a community is all about! :)
Hapy Holidays everyone! I usually love to spend some time these days biking through the deserted city (which happens only twice a year, at Christmas and Easter time) - it's so peaceful and quiet, visiting the family and bringing them gifts I carefully listened ideas for throughout the year, watching good movies I might have missed this year (and cry my eyes out, like when I saw Hacksaw Ridge yesterday), eating and drinking all that I want, and offering street sweepers bags with good things I have - we always have too much for just ourselves at holidays, and resting and relaxing as much as I can. My resolution for 2018 is to be more of a human being then a human doing, even though there's so much I hope I will accomplish also! I hope in 2018 I will be holding lots of SEO courses in London and bring clarity, confidence and great results to many people taking my online and offline courses. Here's to an awesome New Year!
That all sounds both serene and cozy! I love the idea of biking through a quiet city -- what a unique Christmas tradition. Thank you so much for sharing, Ela, I'm feeling inspired to be a little more thoughtful and generous, like you!
Merry Christmas Mozers and of course Merry Christma to you Felicia!!!! :)
Thank you! Hope you and yours had a merry Christmas as well, and all the best for 2018!
Thank you! Wish to all of you guys happy holidays and an awesome new year!
Thank you! Happy holidays and a wonderful new year to you, Mario! :)
Thanks Felicia! This year will be the best yet :)
Wishing you all happy holidays and a great 2018 from sunny Tel Aviv.
In our office we light the Hanukkah candles all together, and have a Christmas tree, which is quite a rare thing to see in a country that doesn't celebrate Christmas. It’s a tradition that our first German employee once started and we continued since.
As we work during the entire Christmas week, we have a few extra days before the year ends for reading, meeting to discuss the previous year and plan the year ahead.
I love this week as it's so quiet but I definitely wish we'd have some snow :)
A happy and successful 2018!
I love those random little traditions that persist for years! You've got me wondering how difficult it is to find and decorate a Christmas tree in Tel Aviv (though I'm guessing Amazon makes it a little easier!). At Moz, we have a "What the Fancy" night the day before our American Thanksgiving; because the office is pretty casual, everyone likes to have an excuse to dress up and eat fancy hors d'oeuvres and drink fancy cocktails. It all started with a small group of Mozzers years ago, when the company was only a few people :)
Happy holidays and a lovely new year to you and your team, and fingers crossed you get a bit of snowfall soon!
Happiest of holidays, Mozzers! Right now we're enjoying lots of quiet in the office but this year, we enjoyed a wine exchange, Secret Santa, and lots of potluck goodies.
It's so interesting to find out which of your coworkers are secretly amazing cooks with a potluck! One of my coworkers brought a bunch of McDonald's to ours, though... not sure what that says about them, exactly, but it turned out to be the most popular item! Not sure what that says about us, either ;)
Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.
What an optimistic point of view, Memli, I love that! Cheers to you as well! :)
merry christmas & happy new year everone
Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you as well, Raaj! :)

Thank you. Wishing you all guys A Special Holidays and Wonderful New Year - 2018.
Thank you! Happy holidays to all the Mozzers of the world! I started my SEO journey this year with you, and happy to continue being in this amazing community in 2018.
For me the beauty of this holiday is in spending real, warm time with my family: hassling over the salads with Mom, arguing with my sister who is going to add a final touch to the decoration of a Christmas tree, covering my face and trying to escape under the table when Dad is opening the bottle of champagne, and, as always, shouting "booouh!" before the bottle pops. It works every year though :D Decorating my cat Pascal into things he doesn't really like wearing... That's what makes it special.
This is also the time, when everyone is a bit kinder. As if ready for the new beginning. So it's a good time to reconnect with someone who you value, but things got a bit complicated and communication was lost.
In Ukraine there is no such tradition as making New Year resolutions, but my resolution, which I already implement in 2017, is to care a bit more about other people, stop my own run for things I want to achieve, and do things for someone else.
Happy holidays to everyone :)
Thank you for sharing, Natalia! :) Christmas with your family sounds like a ton of fun, and I know what you mean about decorating your pets... I don't think I took a single picture of my family this year -- every snapshot in my phone is of food, or a dog in a sweater! :)
If we all resolved to be more generous and kind with our means and our goals, the world would be a much nicer place. Wishing you the best of luck in your resolution, and I'll try to do the same! :)
I hope this trend will be set every year by Moz with good wishes, Happy new year and wish you all happy holidays with their love ones.
I hope i will be able to get some attractive blogs on here as usual so that i can get some authentic knowledge as well.
Happy new year and happy holidays to you, Alihafeez! We'll do our best to keep delivering blog posts to help you level up throughout the year. Please never hesitate to let us know which topics you'd like to learn about, too! :)

Happy New Year! - looking forward to reading more of the Moz blog in 2018
When the year ends, I write my card with 5 purposes for the new year, and I try to fulfill 3 or 4 of those purposes.
What are your goals for the new year?
my purposes are...
1 - Grow at a sporting level, reform my gym.
2 - Travel to NY
3 - Enlarge my web pages
4 - Marrying. But this is between us.
5 - Meet good people in this forum.
Happy holidays and a lovely New Year
Sounds like you've got a big, exciting year ahead of you, Oscar! :) I'm hoping we can put a lot of fantastic ideas into action to make the Moz Blog and community stronger and better in 2018. Cheers to bettering ourselves! Happy New Year!
I thought that dog was Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo.
Haha, whoops! Maybe I ought to tweak the colors to be a little more gray instead... :D
