Matt Cutts Was Hit By A Smooth Criminal
Search Engines
The author's views are entirely his or her own (excluding the unlikely event of hypnosis) and may not always reflect the views of Moz.
In honor of recent news that Matt Cutts likens SEOs to, as Threadwatch put it, "hackers and criminals", I've composed a little song set to the tune of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal." Enjoy!
Rebecca, I as a Webmaster and a Developer use to think all SEO’s are bad, because I met quite a few nasty ones.
But since coming to your community and some other professional SEO blogs I came to realize there are some good people in the SEO community; whom are not in the business of dirty tricks or unsavory gain on Google algorithm.
Also these SEO’s stand up to Google and do not just take every thing as dished out to them by the top Googlers but look at it with a grain of salt.
So thumbs up to the good SEO’s who are in the business of protecting the Internet Global Village for all of us: Users, Developers, Webmasters, and SEO’s
The Internet is our home and an avenue of communication. We need to respect it and take care of it, so it can last a long time to come.
Internet emancipates the underprivileged and the oppressed through the medium of communication – trust – as the founders of Google algorithm have envisioned from day one in their design of Google PR algorithm.
Thank you,
Igor
I'll bring the white glove to work tomorrow.
Don't forget the red leather jacket! Heee hoooooo!
(by the way, I like how you call it "the white glove", as if the office has a token Michael Jackson glove that we pass around like it's the Stanley Cup)
I tried to view the ThreadWatch page linked in the post and all I got was a blank page, despite several refreshes.
Threadwatch recently shut down permanently.
Rebecca, nicely done!
Haha, thanks!
At least now I'm known for TWO things now :P
I would pay to see Matt (and peers) dance to this during his next SES panel. They'd all have to wear those special shoes that MJ patented that click onto the stage so they can do the "horizontal lean" without falling over.
Very nice, now I want to see Matt Cutts doing the moonwalking!
Nice! :)
Now we just need to get him a jacket with like 30 zippers to pockets that don't exist.
(don't say anything about 8 yr olds, don't say anything about 8 yr olds...)
HA! I've overcome my demons...

Don't worry Rebecca I have a good one up my sleeve, but I am too brain dead to go for it now. I will let you know about in a few months time. It will be the bestest ever…
Thank you Rebecca.
Someone has to keep an eye on Google.
So all of us out there including you an Rand are representing the billions of Google users who do not have a voice of their own to speak with.
Rebecca, you may want to look into this.
It looks like Google Inc. is censoring search results.
Matt C. on his blog aksed a question about bugs in Google! He also said if it is not relevent that he will prune it!
https://www.mattcutts.com/blog/bugs
I replied and documented it on my forum.https://www.travelinasia.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4220
He said, "igor, a discussion of whether a particular page was/wasn’t indexed, or what the definition of a Googler is, also doesn’t count for what I’m looking for today. Pruning."

This page is indexed by Yahoo and Internet Archive, but not by Google.
It use to be indexed by Google until I added the word "Googler" on it.
https://www.travelconnecxion.com/charlie_connection_travel_links_page_2.php
It is really funny that Google will take out one page out of its index, of a small travel agency Website, because of one word.
Why are they so defensive?
Is this Google paranoia?
Sounds like George Orwell 1984
Well Rebecca, according to Adam Lasnik, “I am a Googler,” “I am a googler,” “I am a dog,” or what ever else one writes has no relevancy for excluding a page from Google index.
Quoting Mr Adam Lasnik, “We don't remove URLs from search results for the reason you've outlined. We select URLs based upon unbiased considerations, including perceived relevance and importance for a given query.”
Mr Adam, thank you for clarifying this for us.
Igor
Glad you got some answers, Igor. :)
Dear Rebecca, I have just realized that I made a mistake.
I have checked Merriam Webster dictionary and the word Google capitalized means Google registered brand name.
So I have changed on my url
https://www.travelconnecxion.com/charlie_connection_travel_links_page_2.php
from “I am a Googler,” to “I am a googler,” which per authoritative Merriam Webster meaning means, “A person who is good at using a Google search engine.”
I am not a native English speaker, but Russian born.
I would like to ask for a url reinclusion request but the Google Webmaster Tools consol only allows a domain reinclusion request.
Being that Adam Lasnik has banned me from Google Webmaster Help Group I have no ability to ask a Googler for advise.
I have sent an email to Google Search Quality Team attention Adam Lasnik asking him how to do a url reinclusion request.
I am witing for his reply.
I hope my earlier statement about Google inc. censoring Google search results is not true.
Thank you,
Igor
Rebecca Matt C. is being dupped by the guys he hates the most.
With a little insperation by DaveN I uncovered a few hornet nests...
And the offenders all inocent hanging around on Matt's board.
Poor Cuttlets he is so gullible.
I really like the guy and all, to see him made a fool by the people he despises is not nice.
Igor - I can't say I'm surprised that Matt tossed you off the blog. We're honestly worrying about the same thing here at SEOmoz - monopolizing the conversation and flooding the comments with ancilliary items is not a good use for a blog. If you must chat about all this, please use a forum format like Digitalpoint.
Rand, I have nothing against Matt C. I think he is a great guy and a fighter for the Webmasters.
But the Google SE colture is not as it use to be.
And I do here you, you really do not need this dirty luandry aired here, but what do we do?
The proxies, MFA, dirty directories, dirty SEO's, small Mom and Pop Websites get hit while the nasty dirty one's do not even get a scratch!
You tell me!
Igor - by all means, I'd urge you to start your own blog to discuss all this. Blog comments on other peoples' sites simply aren't a good format.
Finally I got Matt to kick me off his blog. He deleted all my 200 or so comments.
Poor Matt, nice guy that he is, he got the peer presure get to him.
I was wondering how long he could stand the heat!
Cuttlets needs to read Google's employee rules of cnduct and familiarize himself with this paragraph-->
e. Our Dog PolicyGoogle's respect and affection for our canine friends is an integral facet of our corporate culture. We have nothing against cats, per se, but we're a dog company, so as a general rule we feel cats visiting our campus would be fairly stressed out.
And I was going to SMS some dumplings to him, on my soon to be trip to China.
Well I will just have to eat the dumplings myself! :)
