Missed SMX London, or just got a taste of SEO and hungry for more? Can't make it to Pubcon, but still want a business write-off in December? Don't fret! Our good friends at London SEO firm, Distilled are hosting a very unique, very affordable and sure to be very worthwhile training seminar covering the basics of SEO, PPC and Analytics.
Will, Duncan and Tom from Distilled are not only top-notch at the SEO game, they're about the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet. They'll be presenting this three hour seminar in London on December 5th, and attendance is extremely limited (I hear there are only about five spots left). The seminar will not only offer in-person training aimed at business owners, webmasters, and beginning SEOs, but you'll have a chance to get answers about your individual website, a guide to useful resources online as well as a copy of Avinash Kaushik's book, Web Analytics in an Hour a Day, a definite must-read.
You can learn more details and register for the seminar at the Distilled website. As a special bonus, the guys have offered take £20 off of the normal price of £120 for SEOmoz Premium Members. This makes for a truly outstanding bargain. If you're going to be in Jolly Ol' in December, and you're looking to expand or refresh your general SEO knowledge, you'd be silly to pass this up.
UPDATE FROM RAND: Also - if anyone is going and would care to cover the event with writeups, photos, etc for the YOUmoz/SEOmoz blog, we'd be very appreciative!
Learn The Basics in London
Events
The author's views are entirely his or her own (excluding the unlikely event of hypnosis) and may not always reflect the views of Moz.
Regular SEOmoz readers know they don't take kickbacks. What is happening here is that the smart guys at Distilled know well how to genuinely influence the linkerati. ;-)
Wow. Thanks for the shout-out guys! To clarify for everyone, the only thing we offered in the hope of a mention was for the community, not for SEOmoz per se - i.e. the discount for premium members.
If anyone wants to take advantage of the discount, just fire me an email (will at distilled.co.uk) with your SEOmoz username and I will send you a link to pay the discounted price.
Can we move PubCon TO London? I mean Vegas is great and all, but I really need to get another stamp in my passport...
I'm itching to go someplace cold and drizzly this Winter, otherwise I miss out on the season entirely, but the 5th is too early.
Cold and drizzly we can do! If you find yourself in London (seminar or not), drop me a line and we can grab a beer. It's always good to meet moz commenters in real life...
Thanks for the invite Will! I'm thinking about going there for the holidays so I'll drop you a line if I do.
Fantastic. Do that. I promise not to talk shop on your holiday (unless you want to!).
Very unique? It either is or ir is not unique. There are no levels of uniqueness.
Aaaagh. Yes indeed. My girlfriend has a sub-editing background and so I get slapped down for saying things like that. I think Rebecca's the SEOmoz grammar-police so I'm sure she'll give Scott a talking to.
I am the grammar police, but today's Thanksgiving so I'm going to get fat instead and let it slide. :D
Thanksgiving - possibly the greatest holiday ever. Have a good one.
Can I go?
You just got back...and you'll be in Vegas.
Oh. Yeah. But I do like the Distilled guys!
Vegas schmegas! Don't let the voice of reason get in the way Jane ;-)
Oh well I think I am just doing Chicago now.... anyone from your crew coming there?
Not this year. Sorry, Aussie. :(
have fun in Vegas....
Is this a paid advertisement from Distilled? Even the anchor text was optimized for them and the sentence reads weird the way the anchor text was laid out (i.e. it makes it too obvious it was moved from an anchor text of Distilled to London SEO firm).
Sorry to be critical but this just seems like an extra long AdWords ad.
No, it's not paid. These guys have been very nice to us, participate like crazy on the blog, and contribute a ton to the community here so we're more than happy to mention their seminar. The link anchor text is a favor I offered, but was never asked for and (since you'll find them in our Recommended Providers list) is, in fact, an editorial endorsement for a London SEO Firm.
Sorry about that - you're right in that this is more promotional than we tend to be on the blog. Usually, when we post something like this, we'll try to be a bit more even-handed and removed. We just really like Will, Tom & crew.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention, though.
...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Awesome.
I don't get it... What's he trying to say?
Oh... That paid links are evil? Damn it. Stupid logical Matt Cutts. Thinks he so smart with his smartness and his impeccably reasoned arguments in punctuation format.
growl...
Stupid sexy Flanders!
LOL, another moment brought to you by TheOneCallGuy.
Matt Cutts, came over . . . now that's funny. Wish his comments were still visible.
Hopefully, no offense was taken. I just felt it was not to the caliber we have all come to enjoy from SEOmoz and I stand my ground that it looks awfully like an advertisement (the anchor text still annoys me).
Looks like most people don't agree though (lots of thumbs down).
Brent David Payne
Haha. Genius. Now my paranoia's going to come out in force!
lol.... back Matt it is not a paid link... just an endorsement....
This is Matt's way of saying "Big Brother is Watching"
I dont think that the anchored link is in any way wrong - after all, as great scott! pointed out - these guys do contribute to the community - see Will's profile for e.g he's in the top 10 in the ranking - I mean that shows that he's a big part of SEOmoz and its online community.
And after all - isnt offering anchor text and a link to someone you would like to "vote" for the right thing to do? Its a sign of support...
Matt... lol so simple yet so deep.
Rand - I dont think you have anything to be sorry about!
Clearly you should take some mozzers out for dinner and buy haggis!
Hopefully it's more than just that! But of course it's also good to get to know people socially as well as through work. All work and no play...
