Working as an in-house SEO Strategist for a small business forces me to get "scrappy" every day with tools and techniques. I'm constantly on the lookout for an opportunity that can help my company market to broader audiences for less money. In the past I've written on how you can add video overlays to your YouTube videos using Google AdWords and generate traffic back to your site without spending a dime. (P.S. This is still working, so if you haven't done it, read this post then get on over to AdWords and get your video overlays rockin').
Learn how to add Lead Generation Cards or LGCs to your Tweets!
What is a LGC? LGC = Lead Generation Card (specifically in Twitter)
A LGC in Twitter is a form that can be attached to your Tweet that allows your followers to directly send you their contact information with the click of a single button in Twitter. Here is an example of what a LGC looks like:
Here is a Tweet containing the LGC:
Here is what appears when an end user clicks "View details:"
Notice how the box is pre-populated with your recipient's email address, enabling them to click the Call to Action button and beam their contact information to you in a single click. Ooohh, Aaahhh...Très Nifty!
"But wait!" you say, "I don't have any budget to pay for Promoted Tweets!"
Great! Neither do I! We have that in common!
The beauty of Twitter LGCs is that you can add a LGC to a regular non-promoted Tweet and it doesn't cost you a single solitary penny.
It's Free…that's right….I said the F-word.
Caveat – You can't compose and publish the Tweet from your regular Twitter admin home page. You have to compose and send the Tweet from inside Twitter Ads. Here's how you do it:
- Log in to Twitter
- Click the Setting Icon and select "Twitter Ads" from the drop down menu [Screenshot below]
3. Click on the "Creatives" Tab in the top Nav Menu in Twitter Ads and Select "Cards"
4. Click "Create your first Lead Generation Cards" – Bonus: You Can have an unlimited number of cards!
Here's what the form looks like:
You'll need to make sure you have the link to your Website's privacy policy handy. Plus you'll need to have an alternative URL where end-users can visit a page to find out more about you and/or your offer. Other than that, all the dimensions you need or right there on the page. Very easy.
5. Once your card is set up, click the "Tweets" tab, just to the left of the "Cards" tab. [Screenshot below] You can also get there by selecting "Tweets" in the "Creatives" drop down menu in the Top Nav.
6. Click the blue "Compose Tweet" button located in the upper right corner.
7. Leave the default delivery setting set to Standard. Compose your tweet & Click the last icon on the right just below your "Tweet" box (when you scroll over it, it says "Attach a Card to This Tweet")
8. Select the card you would like to attach to your Tweet.
9. Send your Tweet!
That's it. Now you can grab your favorite beverage, sit back in your chair and just watch the cash roll in. Okay, maybe not, but you did just manage to attach a lead generation mechanism to your Tweet without spending one red cent!
Now, once you have cards set up in your Twitter Ads account, the steps are even easier. All you will have to do in that case is log in to Twitter. Click "Twitter Ads" from your settings menu. Click "Tweets" under the "Creatives" drop down in the top Nav. Click the blue "Compose Tweet" button. Write your Tweet, select the card and voila!
But wait, there's more!
So, you might be thinking, "Great! But how do I get notified that someone filled out a Twitter LGC? What do I do with that info?"
Along with getting free LGCs, you also get access to some pretty nice analytic data for Tweets sent from your Twitter Ads account. So, here's how you track and download your leads:
- Navigate back to the "Card" Tab under "Creatives."
- Next to the card corresponding to the leads you want to access, mouse over the white area right below the card's URL [Screenshot]
This will create a .csv export of all of the leads generated by that card, together with the date they were collected, the user's Twitter ID, Name, Twitter handle and, most magical of all, their email address. (Insert harp music and glitter here).
3. Upload these into your favorite email program (we love Mailchimp!) or CRM and have at it!
For those of you who are visual learners, I've created a step by step video that walks you through the whole process:
There you have it. You've just successfully set up your Twitter Lead Generation Card and are ready to start raking in free leads from Twitter! Now I want to hear what your creative ideas are for implementing this and using it for your business. How do you think using Twitter Lead Generation cards along with your Tweets can augment your marketing program? I'd love to see them in the comments!
P.S. After this was written I received some excellent questions in the comments regarding two important points that need to be included in this post. The first one is that you have to sign up for a Twitter Advertising account in order for the “Twitter Ads” selection to appear in the drop down menu of your account settings. You can do that via this link: https://business.twitter.com/start-advertising The second one is that this is only currently available to people who live in the United States, Canada, the UK and Ireland. Thanks to travelcarma and Daniel_in_la for bringing this up in the comments!
When it comes to ads, people just think these are gonna be paid but thanks to show me a great technique to use Twitter ads in free, I am gonna use this Lead Generation Card right now..
It never ceases to amaze me how extensive the wealth of knowledge is here on Moz. Dana, thank you for the walk-through. This is great!
Wow, thanks Evan! I appreciate that very much :-)
Hi Dana, I had no idea it was possible to do this for free. How exciting is that? Yaa!!!! I can't wait to give this a whirl!
PS - Thanks so much for putting this tutorial together. As usual, you did a great job, and I really appreciate it!!
You are very welcome Christy. I know! I was really surprised you could do it for free too. In fact, as I was writing this post, I went back over everything to make sure it really truly worked without having to spend $ on ads. Thanks for reading and I hope the LGC help you collect some awesome leads!
i am impressed by your idea :)
Thanks Rohtash! Thank you for reading! :-)
Hey Dana:) I got such a noble step as I use twitter regularly...Thanks for that
You are very welcome Seema. I am so glad you found this useful.
Wow Dana, this is awesome. I had no idea Twitter had its own, built-in lead generation forms for tweets. This could be used in a variety of different ways, promoting a variety of different products and/or services.
The importance of a RT just escalated!
I agree Brady. I've already seen some beautifully creative uses of it in action. And you make a very good point about a RT. Thanks for reading!
Hi Diana, Thanks for provides Nice Ideas, i was not know that yet but now i am going to apply to these ideas for my business. thanks a lot.
Thanks for all this great info. Don't suppose you (or anyone else) knows if lead gen cards can be attached to specific tweet buttons on your site? Do we need to wait for wordpress plugins to update to support these new card formats?
You're very welcome Matthew, and thank you for reading. You asked a really good question. I believe this might be what Will Lam, who commented above, was trying to do on his blog a couple of days ago. Regarding WP plugins, I'm not sure but I'll try to find out and will post an answer here when I do.
Thanks Dana. I did some digging around, have contacted the Twitter ad team and some creators of various twitter card Wordpress plugins. It looks like LGCs can only be generated within the ad manager interface, they don't have meta tag values like the other "regular" cards that allow them to be attached to content on your site. I've pasted the reply from twitter ad support below - if enough people requested this they might eventually add meta tags for LDC cards which would let us attach them to URLs on our site, and that would be awesome for content marketing efforts.
"Currently Lead Gen cards can only be created and published using the Twitter Ads dashboard.
We'd be happy to reach out to our Cards team to see if there is a workaround for what you are trying to accomplish. Could you please be a bit more specific as to the experience you are trying to enable?
If you provide a detailed step by step explanation in more detail that will help us determine whether there is a way to partially or fully support your desired experience."
Awesome Matthew! Also, you wrote up a great post on how to apply these to Travel lead generation that had a beautiful example of your LGC in it. I encourages everyone reading this comment thread to go check it out: A role for Twitter’s “Lead Generation Cards” in the travel content funnel
Thanks Dana :)
Hi Riza, I have tried in one of my old blogs almost around July 2013, when it was newly launched.
When it comes to tweet a story from one's blog, every blogger or marketer want to display some additional description and a media file if possible with the tweet, so as to get maximum exposure, better SEO presence, and compelling readers to click that particular story.
For bloggers, I found a much easier way to show twitter cards in their tweets just by adding some code to you blog's template code. You can too find it on MyBloggerTricks blog by Mohammad Mustafa. https://www.mybloggertricks.com/2013/07/twitter-cards-settings-for-blogger.html
I too recommend every blogger and business to integrate Twitter cards so as to make their tweets most powerful for turning readers in potential customers.
Thanks Mohammad. I appreciate you reading, but especially appreciate your share of the post on how to implement Facebook Open Graph and Twitter cards into Blogger. Admittedly my own blog is on the Blogger platform and it suffers from neglect most of the time. I've tried one or two times implementing FB Open graph markup but still haven't been successful at making it work the way I would like it to.
Your post is extremely thorough and I really appreciate you sharing it here. For everyone reading these comments go check out Mohammad's tutorial. It's quite helpful! I know sometimes links you find in comments are always viewed with a suspicious eye because so often they are used to spam. This is not one of those. I encourage everyone to go check it out [the link is in is comment above].
Thanks again Mohammad! If I could have given you two thumbs up I would have. :-)
Thanks for the post, Dana, amazing information! I sent out a test LGC and completed the sign up myself to test it. However when I went into the Card Manager and hovered over the white area, the drop box symbol did not appear so I seem to be unable to access information about who may have completed the form. Did you experience this yourself? Will try to hammer out a solution and will let you know if I do.
Hi Fiona,
Yes, I experiences exactly the scenario you described. The download icon will only appear when you actually have leads in your download file. New leads do not appear in real time. In my testing they took up to 24 hours to appear. Once they've been added to your list, the icon will magically appear. Thanks for reading and I'm so glad you got a LGC all set up. That's exciting/ Have fun with it! :-)
Dana
So, how much more traffic have you gotten from this? There is so much things to do as a SEo consultant that time is never enuff.
Thanks Dana for this awesome tutorial. So far, I was not aware that Twitter had this built-in lead generation card for tweets. I'm going to try out this feature for promoting some of my clients' products and services.
Hi! Dana
I'm having an issue, i can see the Twitter Ads option but not able to create LGC, their is no option in my admin panel.
Please guide me what I'm doing wrong or do i have to do???
Hi Sanjeev, First I want to thank you for reading. Second, I want to thank you for taking the time to comment. I am sorry you are having an issue. Are you an advertise based in the USA, Canada, UK or Ireleand? If not, then this particular option isn't availabe to you right now. However, I am pretty sure after all the hubbub this post is causing, Twitter might change that!
Thank you for your help.
Good stuff, I see people utilizing twitter more and more and this lead card could really help us stand out! Thank you
Thanks Dubs! Thanks for taking the time to read it. It was fun to put together because I knew the Moz Community would really like the info because they tend to be pretty avid Twitter users.
I found this useful, but you do not have to tweet from within ads.twitter.com as long as you use the Twitter Card URL in any tweet (from any client) then the card will display. See: https://support.twitter.com/groups/58-advertising/topics/260-promoted-tweets/articles/20171578-setting-up-website-cards
Fantastic comment and observation Jeff! If I could have given your comment 10 thumbs up I would have.. Brilliant discovery. Thanks so much for reading and the excellent, excellent comment!!!
Wow. Seems an easy and great way to generate these cards. I am going to follow you step by step.
Awesome Adeel. Let me know if you get stuck anywhere in the process and I will try to help. Also, I'd love to see what it looks like when you are done! Thanks for reading :-)
This is really awesome! I always thought you had to pay to do Twitter marketing.
Thanks for reading Gary. Yes, I think that's what a lot of us thought. When I started writing this post I suddenly had a panic moment when I thought, "But, what if I'm wrong???" So I tested it out pretty carefully just to make sure. I hope the LGCs serve you well!
Dana,
Thank you for sharing such in depth research. It provided an immediate solution for a current project.
Awesome to hear Robert! I am so happy you found it useful. Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it!
For some reason, I do not get the "Twitter Ads" option under settings :'(
Hi Anil,
Yes, this is really my fault for not clarifying something in the post, but you'll find the answer in the comment thread. In order for the Twitter Ads option to appear under your account settings you must sign up for a Twitter Ads account [link in the P.S. above] - you will be required to enter a valid credit card...but you are not required to spend anything, nor is there any monthly subscription fee. Hope that helps! Let me know if you do this and still have problems and I'll try to help :-) Thanks for reading!!
Hi Dana,
Never mind. I saw the video. I got the info I needed. Thank you thank you thank you. I guess i'll wait a couple of hours to get the data.
Hi Lanre,
No worries. Glad you got it to work. Thanks for reading! :-)
Dana
I love the post Dana. I read it when you first published it in May, shared the heck out of it on all our social profiles and now that I am ready to pull the trigger on Twitter cards, came back to re-read.
Some great input, both in your post update and the comments here. 3 free leads per day is nothing to sneeze at. When I test my first twitter card, I will definitely be pinning it! And, by the way, who doesn't like BBQ sauce!
Thanks so much Rick! I was surprised to even get leads in my personal account as quickly as I did. I'm still working on the BBQ sauce ;-) I'm working on a new post now that hopefully the community will again find useful. Cheers!
I think Twitter have changed the cards in last 3 months. I couldn't find it the way you have explained here! bit complicated now :)
Sagar, this trick stopped working a few days after this blog post went live. Twitter updated everything right as this post started getting traction.
So this is not functional now? You can only do this by paid, or some trick / process to make this active as described?
Found the solution! You just have to add you bank card details for the tab to appear. No need to spend anything, just add the card.
Rad, thanks for sharing!
Just catching up with the Moz Blog over the past month and posts like this with "actionable" tips totally justify the time! Thanks, Dana.
Thanks for reading Nick. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :-)
Thanks for the post, Dana, marvelous information this post is really helpful.
Great Job, Done!
You're welcome Carlton. Thanks for reading and I'm happy you enjoyed it!
I'd like to add an important comment to this thread regarding something extra special and wonderful that I just discovered. Once you've set up your Lead Generation Card, you can Tweet it out and then....here's the really important part....you cam PIN THAT TWEET...to the top of your Twitter profile.
Oh, no no no, don't you be yawning about that. Here's why,
I'm not even trying to actively collect leads off of my Twitter profile...I set it up as an experiment....and, I know this doesn't sound like a lot, but I got three real leads in one day. Those are three leads I didn't have to pay a dime for....in one day.
What do you currently pay for a lead?
If you could get three of those for free in one day...and you could get three free every day for a year, how much would that be worth to you?
Have fun with this everyone!
Is it just me or does the download link seem to have disappeared?
Thanks
Lee
Hi Lee,
The link doesn't appear until you actually have leads waiting for you. I thought the same thing at first, "Where did it go?" Leads also don't appear there in real time, so give it over night. Try entering yourself as a lead and you should see it pop up the next day. Hope that helps and thanks for reading!
Hello Dana Tan,
Very Interesting post indeed. Your are good in find hidden things :D I have tried it but failed.
I think this option only for US. @prabhat i did not find it as well.
any feedback about this scenario.?
thanks Keri Morgret
""Right now, this is only available in the US, Canada, Ireland or the UK.""
Thanks Keri! :-)
This is looking like a great opportunity and tips for me because I have never been successful in marketing things on Twitter and I do not often try to do so as I am not having good number of followers to me. I believe you can market your products effectively unless you have some really good followers. This tactics is looking good for me and I hope I will try now for whatever followers I have.
Excellent Abhishek. I am like you. I felt very challenged regarding marketing on Twitter. I think that's what lead me to the curiosity that eventually resulted in me writing this post. Sometimes feeling like you don't know enough is just a really big opportunity to dive in there and figure something out. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. Cheers!
Interesting. Where your example shows the "Twitter Ads" option, it's missing on my business Twitter account. That field on my drop-down list shows "Analytics."
In order to get into Twitter Ads, I have to go to ads.twitter.com and log in there. And yet, when I log into my personal Twitter account...the Adds option is there. I wonder what I did to change that option around like that.
EDIT: And now the Twitter Ads option is there. Apparently something had to be set that wasn't. Oh well.
Hi David. Thanks for reading. I am glad the issues you were having sorted themselves out. Have fun with it. I've already seen some pretty creative applications that are pretty exciting!
I feel really dumb for not knowing that you could do this for free. I always paired LGCs with promoted tweets and assumed there was a cost... and you know what they say about assuming...
Thank you for your enlightenment!
Awesome Tim! Thanks for reading. Believe me, when I was figuring it all out, I kept thinking "Really? You can really add a LGC to a non-promoted Tweet?" - I even had some friends try it on their accounts before submitting this post because I wanted to be sure it really did work. :-) Hope it saves you some marketing budget to use in other cool ways!
Why this feature is not enable for other countries.. :(
It works only for four countries: United States, Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom.
What's wrong with some Asian countries like India?
I agree Gaurav, I would suggest sending a message to Twitter indicating your interest. They will listen. It might not happen right away, but eventually it will because, frankly, for them it's just good business.
Its not only me, lots of peoples are sending message to Twitter for enable this feature for us. Let see! how long will we have to wait for this service.
Well I can access this feature from Pakistan. But Yes I can't access paid feature yet.
I don't think it works for Pakistan. There is no option to choose any other country rather than above four.
First Thanks to Dana Tan for share this post, My question is : Twitter Lead Generation Cards is Free for just trial period?
Hi Gaurav,
You are so welcome and thanks for reading. You may have already discovered that the LGCs are only available to advertisers in the USA, Canada, UK and Ireland right now. Provided you are an advertiser from one of those four countries, yes, it is free. There's no trial period. They are completely free. That's the best part :-) Hope that answers your question. Cheers!
Hey Dana,
It's a great post and rightly deserved to be promoted here at the main arena. You may imagine the benefits of this thing if you have the pretty good amount of Twitter followers. I'd say people should give it a try with the promoted tweets as well. I know people usually do not have the budget for experimenting purpose, but I can bet this experiment will have a worth!
Thanks again for the useful post.
Thanks Umar. You make a good point. If you do have budget, the Twitter LGCs can provide a tremendous amount of value. They are non-invasive and make it extremely easy for someone to share their information with you. You can't get much easier than one click! Thanks so much for reading!
Thank you for your efforts to create awesome post, it will help to many webmasters, but i have got one question for you - I can't wait to create my first Twitter Card, but i have checked in my twitter profile setting so there is no tab is coming for "Twitter Ads" under KeyBoard Shortcuts, How can i set up, can you please advise ?
Thanks for reading! You and Daniel both brought up some excellent points that I should have included in the post above. The first is that Twitter LGCs are currently only available to advertisers in the USA, Canada, Ireland and the UK. The second is that you do have to sign up for a Twitter for Business advertising account here: Twitter for Business Advertising - Before you do that you won't see the "Twitter Ads" option in the drop down box in settings.
Good catch! I should have included that step in my post :-)
Please let me know if that solves the issue. I appreciate you taking the time to comment with an excellent question! :-)
Sounds good!
Setting up your Twitter Lead Generation Card will help you rank in free leads from Twitter. These steps shared above will surely be a big help to set up as well as to use Twitter Lead Generation Cards in your tweets that is absolutely free.
The snapshot images helped a lot to visualize the topic provided.
Thanks for sharing us your knowledge with regards to this subject.
Power post! :)\
Best,
Ann07
By the way, I found this post shared on Kingged.com
Thanks AnnQ7 - I am happy that you find this post useful. I haven't heard of the sharing site you mentioned. I will go check it out. Cheers!
Dana, it's generally because I edit out the (often long) automated signatures that site adds to these comments.
lol - understood Keri. I had a feeling.
Hey Dana,
I just tried to tweet it out. Does the URL have to be inline for the card to be directly viewable in the timeline - it looks like I had to expand the tweet by click the "view details" please see https://calgary.gastropost.com/gastropostyyc and the direct link to the tweet: https://twitter.com/GastropostYYC/status/463759139...
Yes Will, you are exactly right. Your card looks great by the way! Love your site. Nice fonts! :-) I joined. I am a foodie.
Dana this post is magic with a little tongue in cheek, perfect! - Thank you!
Thanks so much Gary. I'm delighted that you enjoyed it :-)
Hot diggity! Awesome post Dana! Just when I was about to give up on trying to find where to download my leads from a previous promoted campaign (after my ex-boss had abandoned it and left me to figure it out), I discover your gem of a post!
Hey Will. Thank you. I am so glad it helped you find them. It's not exactly obvious where to go. It took me a while to figure it out too. Thanks for reading and I hope those leads prove fruitful and that you look super-smart to your new boss :-)
Hi Dana,
I may just be missing something, but when I go to the twitter ads section under settings, I only see Ads at the top, no 'Campaigns', 'Creatives' etc. Am I missing something here? Wondering if you have been asked this so far.
Thanks,
-Daniel
Hi Daniel,
You bring up a good point that I most definitely should have mentioned in this post. Self-serve ads for small advertisers are currently only available if you are from the US, Canada, Ireland or the UK. Are you by any chance from a country other than one of those? If so, this could be why you aren't seeing "Campaigns" and "Creatives" in you advertising menu. Fingers crossed that Twitter will add more countries soon!
Thanks so much for reading, and I saw that you asked a question on one of my other posts (on video overlays) that I never answered. I apologize for that. I am headed off to answer it now. Cheers!
Hi Dana,
I'm running into the exact same issue. We have an account that we set up this year and is US based. Since it's newer, I'm wondering since we just added Twitter Ads if maybe we're being blocked from functionality because we don't have a credit card tied to it or something?
Any thoughts?
Hi Knupnau, I just checked this out to make sure I could give you an accurate answer. Yes, in order for your advertising account to be activated you have to enter a valid CC number. The same is true of Google Adwords. However, there is no requirement that you spend anything :-) Thanks for reading and asking a great question!
Thanks for sharing the tip Dana, and also for making the post entertaining :)
You are welcome Sundeep. I am very glad you enjoyed it :-)
Great post. Loved the video at the end just to answer and visualize the questions that were starting to form.
Thanks so much. I thought including a video might be helpful. Sometimes when I am doing other things it's easier to listen than to read a post. I hope you find it useful!
Great find Dana - this is super actionable. Also - that's an extremely interesting and niche product you have as the example up there! Communion cups!?
Thanks Joe! Thanks for reading and you are right, super-duper niche. Honestly, the first time I saw them I never thought they'd sell. Boy was I wrong. lol. Have fun setting up your LGCs. I just did a new one and discovered that I could pin the Tweet to the top of my "Tweets" in Twitter, so now I have a permanent lead generation form right there, at the very top, pinned to my profile page. Amazing!
I really guess that the Lead Generation Card is an important tool for social media marketing. I have read about it but have never really given a thought to it. From this tutorial there is are really some clarity about the LGC. Its really worth trying if you ask me!
Hi Dana, thank you so much for this post. It's really a new thing. With your post, I learned so much about twitter, and I never thought that this do exist. :)
Thanks a lot Dana! It seems like you really did a lot of homework on twitter to discover if there is something in store for a shoestring budget marketing. This is really awesome. Just like you, I also had been looking out for YouTube optimization and found a lot of things which could be done easily for FREE. Just like you, I said the F-Words. The in-video programming features were pretty amazing. I think we need to explore each platform to get more benefits. Also Twitter should look at the requests from other countries as well. Thanks a gain for sharing.
Great piece Dana! Thankyou for your step by step guide. The advertising options on Twitter are not working for us in India right now but I wish we get this facility here soon and I can take advantage of this great post of yours.
Regards,
Manish
Thanks for reading Manish. I'm sure they will be available in India eventually. When they do come online for you, I hope the tutorial will be helpful. I will make sure to keep it updated with any changes as I become aware of them.
In our Profile I tried but it is not working !!!
Right now, this is only available in the US, Canada, Ireland or the UK.
Thanks for jumping in Keri. I'm sure it is a bit frustrating to those who get excited and want to try it but can't yet because of the country limitations. I'm sure this will change eventually.
To good to be true! But I guess it is. I Hope Twitter doesn't get on the privacy bandwagon, and stop providing the emails. Great post/tut Dana. Thanks!
Thanks Roberto! I think the way they get around that is by requiring that anyone using the LGC has a real privacy policy in place and that a link is posted in the Tweet containing the LGC. It's also in the hands of the end user as to whether or not they chose to share that information. Twitter isn't actually, technically providing it. Thanks so much for reading and commenting. I appreciate it greatly!
Hey Dana,
Although we are friends on Facebook I don't usually get to see your SEO side! This is a great find. I actually noticed this the other day when I was setting up a twitter card for a speaking session at a recent conference my company attended. It published just like a normal tweet and because I hadn't set a budget it just stayed up organically. I wonder how long until Twitter catches on and removes this behavior?
Great overview!
Thanks Simon. You know, I kind of wondered the same thing, however, there were many who wondered whether or not the ability to add overlays to YouTube videos that I wrote about in YouMoz last year was something that Google would catch on to and remove. A year later, those video overlays are still working and they're still free. Honestly, I think they probably already know and hope that by enticing people with some free capabilities that once advertisers see the value they'll happily invest in real paid ads. We'll see, only time will tell!
Thanks for such interesting and informative post Dana...Really Helpful...
You are welcome Rahul. Thanks for giving it a read. It was a lot of fun to put together.
Hey Dana,
Great Idea, thanks for sharing
You're welcome Rashad. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it!
Hey Dana, is this function still available or changed since posting? As I cannot seem to find this as described?
Thanks
Brian
Hi, the forth button is not showing into my account so can not download leads? any help
Hi Vipin, Let's see if we can figure out why the button isn't there. Were you able to successfully set up a LGC? If so, are you sure there are leads in there? I am trying to verify whether or not the download link only appears if you have leads waiting for you. Let me do a little bit of sleuthing and I will post what I find.
Hi again Vipin. Okay. I checked this out and my assumption was correct. If you have created your LGC but are not seeing the download icon, it means you don't have any leads yet. As soon as leads start being added, the download button will automagically appear. Thanks for the excellent question!
Looks like Twitter has removed the 'creatives' tab - any idea if it's stil possible to used LGC for free or are they only available for promoted campaigns now?
Standard delivery is no longer available. It now says "Tweet will be shown only to those targeted in Promoted Tweet campaigns." Looks like Twitter knows about this hack and they removed this feature to get more money.
I am on my twitter ads section but i do not have the creatives menu, please advise
Does anyone have a newer version of this tutorial online? It's a bit outta date.
Also it seems you have to set a budget? with a minimum of 1cent per day? maybe i clicked an option that costs something when I got carried away clicking target audience.
Anyone know why this is showing as red No Budget Selected?
any help would be great
I could not find this setting and twitter ads either is it now a paid option? thats all im finding is paid option
Hi when I click on Twitter ads I get credit card I don't see Twitter Dashboard for creative and cards
Hello there! Great post but does Twitter's new interface still allow us to do this for free? I was not able to do it.
Hi, thanks for the how to! The problem I am having is that my ad page does not have any drop down menus. All my menu shows is the twitter bird. Nothing else like this: https://d2v4zi8pl64nxt.cloudfront.net/how-to-set-up...
Any suggestions?
I am also having the same problem?!
Hi Diana,
I am getting one big problem. Actually I am not getting the twitter ads button under setting icon. Is this twitter lead card generation is available for US and particular regions only or is available globally. Because I doubt, I belong from India and so this LCG is not functional over here.
Hello Dana,
I've created my first Twitter lead card. I've even used it in a tweet. Unfortunately, I could not find where to download the *CSV document. I googled for help and found your article. I wish I'd found it sooner, I'd have spent less time trying to figure our lead card creation.
Unfortunately, I still cannot find where to download the emails. I scrolled over the page like you said but only came up with three icons which did not include a Download link. What do I do? Please help.
Hello Dana,
I tried to set up Twitter Lead Generation Cards in my tweets too but unfortunately not able to figure out the option "twitter Ads" in settings. Is it paid now? How can I create LGC for my company?
Thanks so much for this. I went through the whole process and sent out the tweet, then went in an requested a "proposal" from Me, went in via my wife's Twitter account and did the same thing. When I went back in the Creatives and hovered over the white area only 3 icons come up, not the 4th one on the far right that takes you to the leads. Does it take Twitter some time to send the response, or might I have done something wrong?
thank you
Is it possible to integrate a free LGC with an rail marketing provider like iContact?
Do you know any VAs who create LGCs? Who do the integration work (if possible)?
Thank you for this valuable information. I will use it wisely.Personally, I'm not Twitter, but Facebook, but with this trick is sure I'll switch to the little bird.
What about a Click to Call function? Can you set that up with Twitter cards? I tried tel://55555555555 and it said to create a valid URL
Great Tips. Loved the effort you did there. Looking forward for more post of yours. Keep it up.
Hi.
Creative thought and systematically post your idea thanks for sharing such a wonderful post. We spend more money on advertising rather than product.
Thanks
