I'm seriously considering taking the Search Marketing Tour to China in March and proposing to speak at SES Nanjing...
It's just that I'm traveling so much in 2006 and I've got a to-do list a mile long already. What do you think?

Yeah.
Let's see.
Just for fun: Game on.
Cheers!
Mike.
I think you haven't been invited. As it's mainly Chinese speaking as Chris Sherman told me. That's why I haven't had an official invitation yet myself.
God, you are so famous, Rand. If I paid you, could you get me to where you are?
Your admirer who just needs to learn from you...
Please, please teach me. It would be my honor to know everything you know.
Mike - I'm only famous enough to know when someone truly legendary is posting on my blog :D
As for the invitation, it came via a phone call from David Temple (and Ian McAnerin) for the Tour. And, according to the SES Nanjing site and Shak's blog, I think a lot of it will be in English or, at least, dual language.
And as for this:
"Please, please teach me. It would be my honor to know everything you know."
That's what I'm supposed to be begging you!
Mike,
Unless we're having a contest where we pick NFL teams to win in the playoffs, I'm out of my league...
Your experience and wisdom obviously dwarf my pimply-faced sandboxing. No one in their right mind thinks otherwise. I'm just a big fan who took your comments too personally. If I've sounded arrogant in the past, that's just my youth and inexperience talking - I hope it isn't mistaken for pomposity.
Rand, sorry you won't make it, maybe next time. Andy you definitely have to go and use your Chinese. According to the website "This China event will be a bilingual one, in both Chinese and English". It has been so popular they moved it from a hotel to the convention center in Nanjing. If you want to speak you should let Chris know.
"China is obviously a big market to exploit..."
I'm not sure if exploit would be the word I would personally use, but there is so much upcoming 'opportunity' in the Chinese market.
I would like to get my foot in the door as well.
Definitely go, if you have the chance. With such a huge emerging market, and the largest population of a single country in the world, it would be ludicrous not to go.
China is obviously a big market to exploit...is this rand going for global domination??
Wo ye hen xihuan qu Nanjing! Ni dei qu!
You must go!!!!!! China is a blast. We all have long to-do lists, every once a while you gotta take advantage of the freedom that an SEO career gives you.
If guys like you are going, then guys like me in Asia will definitely "consider" going. Consider because I got in touch with Chris Sherman last December and applied to be on one of the panels but he said the show would almost be entirely in Chinese. If you guys are going, then at least some of the best parts would definitely be in English (not unless you know Mandarin now) :)
Rand, I think it's really worth it, you are definitely learn stuff if you go there.
Prioritize your to-do list, and take into annotation your short and long term business goals... that's the only reasonable way to go forward....
good!!!!! i think u should go to china because i live in china now!!!!!!! haha
You should go and wear a t-shirt requesting that the Chinese government ban your website.
