Came across BlogInfluence which purports to give a score to indicate your blog's relative level of importance in the sphere. The rough calculation is based on the number of Technorati and Yahoo! links you've got, added together with Bloglines subscriptions and multiplied by a factor that uses Google's PageRank. It's certainly not a perfect system, but it is interesting and decent to make comparisons with. In many ways, it's a poor man's version of the Quick Strength tool Matt is working on for SEOmoz (as per your requests).
SEOmoz's score was 7,027, SERoundtable is at 137,557 and Jim Boykin's got a 6988. I'm losing out because I don't have any Bloglines subscribers (or the tool isn't counting them).
The Blog Influence number for my personal blog (https://superrob.blogspot.com) is 2731.5. I guess it's a high number that you're looking for?
I don't think I need to put my company's blog in there, though. It's far to new to really have much influence yet.
Hummm. I see where's a place to add your bloglines ID, but where do you find that info? My score has gone up, but it doesn't appear as though it included bloglines, which I know sends my blog tremendous traffic.
If you run a bloglines search on this page - https://www.bloglines.com/search- for feeds rather than posts and enter the URL, you should see the ID in the links to subscribe or view. It's pretty hidden, though.
https://www.bloglines.com/search?q=www.seomoz....- for SEOmoz, it's 2137579
That worked Rand. I found it. Thanks :)
Ah thx randfish, that's it. :)
Where can i see the Bloglines ID? I have no Idea where i can find them. Plz help. Thx.
Excellent find Rand. Over the past 12 hours you've published 3 different tools on here which have earned permanent spots on my personal research tool list.
SEJ comes in at a 117429.2, pretty crazy number. BSE at 614006, even crazier # due to all of the backlinks.
It's quite nice to have some blog/site measurement systems on the market besides PageRank and Alexa.
Looking forward to Quick Strength. Sure it will be useful.
Heh, kinda fun. My influence number is 12438. Maybe I should play those numbers in the lottery. :)
I'm seeing 374 subscribers for seomoz, Rand.
It's just not counting those for you.
The URL associated with your bloglines feed is https://www.seomoz.org/instead of https://www.seomoz.org/blog.php,which may be why bloginfluence isn't picking it up.
374 subscribers, eh? Thanks, Bill - I should have probably figured that out myself. I always see tons of traffic coming in from BlogLines :)
Hello people,
Im Gorka the creator of the tool.
Im going to explain what happend with the bloglines subs number.
The bloglines API don't give this information and I try to get from bloglines with a trick. Sometimes problems happend and is imposible to get. I'm going to put a field to enter the blogid of bloglines.
All your feedback is welcome
My blog is 10827.2. Not sure if that's "good" or "bad" but it's over a 10, so I guess I can be pleased about that :)
