You know that corner sandwich shop that you love so much because they'll make you the exact sandwich you crave? Yea, so this is kinda like that... well, but not. Here at SEOmoz we think a lot about how we can not only come out with new features, but also improve existing tools so our members can get the most value out of PRO. As a part of the help team, I can’t stress enough how much we crave feedback from our users, so we thought we’d take this opportunity to get your two cents. Please take a moment to fill out the survey below and help make our Rank Tracker that perfect sandwich.
Thanks for completing the survey! For everyone out there that's curious about the results, we'll be sure to post them in about 1 week. Now you deserve to go and get yourself a delicious club sandwich with extra bacon. Mmmmm, bacon.
I think a good rank tracking tool these days has to have some level of local rankings included. Ideally it would include (for Google specifically) local rankings and what type of local results are displaying (standard or blended, 7-pack or 3-pack, etc.)
Thats exactly what I am looking for!
I left a little negative comments on survey :) I have to say I am searching for perfect rank tracker for some time. I am huge SEOmoz fan, but your rank tracking tool really needs to step up and become much more usable in real life.
As gfiorelli said, I really do hope this means we will get some new decent rank tracking tool as I am waiting for it so long.
Are you going to publish the results or just use for internal purposes? :)
I think we'd planned to use it to help build something, but in the spirit of TAGFEE, we should definitely make results available. I'll be sure to ask the team to post a link here on the blog after it's gotten feedback (probably next week).
TAGFEE?
You mean "Transparent & Authentic, Generous, Fun, Empathetic, and Exceptional"?
We sure do! It's what we live by here in the MozPlex: https://www.seomoz.org/blog/what-we-believe-why-seomozs-tagfee-tenets
This sounds great, looking forward to see the survey results!
@randfish Thank you for taking the time to answer me, I appreciate that. Whether it's given away free or not, we'll more than likely still get access to another incredible application from the Mozzers :)
yES LOOking forward to published reports..I am wondering if SEOmajestic will make the list.
Why no mention of Advanced Web Ranking?
Good call - we should add them! I'll ping Megan about getting that on the list.
cool...I'm afraid if you don't you'll get a lot of votes for "Other"
Consider it added! :-)
I used to use MarketSamurai but I stopped using it because of two reasons :
1. Inaccurate results most of the time.
2. Too much updates with heavy loading software.
Then I started using the Rank Tracker in SEOmoz Campaigns and I never looked back. My only request to be included in the Tracker is : Going beyond first 50 search results. 100 sounds great, ideal and enough. In my opinion of course. And while you at it, please increase the keyword limit a little bit.
For me ..Raven tools and SEMrush are the ones in my usage to check the ranking positions!
Don't forget localization for different countries/languages :)
I like AuthorityLabs software because of the simplicity and the client login / white-label features.
I my oppinion a rank tracker needs to:
Hi Frederik,
seoClarity actually fits every single point you made above. We're an online service with daily ranking reports and customizable dashboards for each user. We'd love to be added to the survey above, as it seems like we have most of the features people are looking for in these comments!
Looking forward to seeing the results!
Could the purpose of this survey be to provide a lite version of SEOmoz RankTracker to your free users? :) I miss this tool sooooo much!!!
i definitely agree, finding a decent rank tracker for a decent price is proving to be more of a hassle than it should be.
Just throwing this out there - I am all for standardization of data and technology (easier said than done I know).
Even though all the Moz tools are great, people will always have custom requirements.
How about we start on a standardized data format or order for SERPs recording.
We could even possibly have a .serp file that was based on a structured (probably XML) data format and therefore reports would be interhangeable between programs (good for migration and archiving).
Any thoughts on this?
GetStat is kinda killing everything right now. If they had an API it'd be a wrap.
Dude! We have an API!
Hot. damn.
Per project setup - client name & second drop down to include domains monitored in that project like the dropdowns at the top of RavenTools (AuthorityLabs doesn't do this) with daily rank monitoring (AuthorityLabs does this well) and historical graphing. For reputation management it would be nice if the second dropdown could have color coded accents (light red or green) to visually distinguish monitored positives you're pushing vs. the monitored negatives.
Awesome ideas. Thanks!
Nice addition...good step from seomoz..eagerly waiting for results!
Let us chose the &hl= parameter for Google to report language based search. If the website is in an other langage than english, ranking report will be more accurate if the searches are done while the &hl= parameter match the website's language.
What happened to the results??? Never saw them posted?
For Christmas I would like a ranking tool that...
a) gets localisation right
b) integrates with GA data to track and compare/analyse ranking data with traffic/bounce rates/goals/ecommerce/conversions
...thanks Santa Rand and all the elves at SEOMOZ...
;-)
There is no need to wait for Christmas then!
Advanced Web Ranking already has great localization support and it integrates with both Google Analytics and SEOmoz data.
I submited this feedback twice earlier as well (at least important for me) but it would be great to have daily automated tracking for each phrase. I can stop using another service that I use and completely focus here if I had that tool here. Updating each phrase manually, especially when each rank update takes 5-10 secs each, takes a heck lot of time (and fun out of SEO) if you have 100+ keywords.
Many people useseoClarity. I'm surprised it's not on the list.
Keyword visits in analytics better guage to projects progess anyhow, clients miss out the fact of the 100's of variations of keyword visits, beyond the main terms being as high on page 1 as possible.
SEOmoz needs KPI tracking in their webapp! That will "KEEP" more people as subscribers.
Increase the keyword limits and add an option for Coremetrics/Omniture/Webtrends integration and I'm sold.
Great feedback, waiting for the results.
I wonder why all the tracking services are on the paid basis. Is there at least a free one?
AuthorityLabs has a free plan (1 domain / 10 keywords).
It's really nice to see that you count on us for developing new tools. Thank you and waiting for results and of course, for new tools.
Hey! waiting for the results!
Is there any other survey about most used tools?
Please share the results!
We'll be sharing the results in about a week. Stay tuned!
Ive filled in the form, looking forward to seeing the results ;)
Thank you, and you're welcome!
I think that Ahrefs.com SERPs Analysis should be listed. Service has some essential features for us.
I wasn't familliar with this ahrefs tool so I had a quick look. I like the way it looks and operates. It has some good features.
Nice... I was wondering when that message in the Rank Tracker page would have start to maybe transform itself in a countdown to the birth of a renewd rank tracking tool :)
Great Post!
SEOer needs more Tools and information to improve skill with Search Engine
I dont see webCEO and analytics suites such as brightedge, conductor, ginzametrics.
Some folks (esp. enterprise users) use these tools as well(especially brightedge, conductor and ginzametrics).
Interesting survey, gonna test top tools after seeing results.
What i want from tools like this is the list of recomended keywords, for which site already rank rather good(top 100), it's helpfull for fastest results. I know only local tools with this feature. If anybody know any, let me know, please.
Megan, Great survey and waiting for the results...! I want to add one more which i have used it is seotoolset.
Am I the only one that uses webceo? Their ranking tracker works so well and I've been using it for so many years, I barely give a look to any others out there. Am I really missing something?
You are not the only one my friend. I use WebCEO as well.
Ah, didn't see you there before I commented--we must have posted at about the same time. Good to see someone else sticking up for good software.
Great soft but too slow. 5-10 hours per reports is realy long. And when all local data needed, it may need all weekend.
What they need is integration with anticapcha)
I used WebCEO for quite a lot and its great.. the only problem i think it has is its too heavy software and solw to an extend.
I can't wait to see the results from this.
Here is a sneak peak of our custom rankings report that we have been using for a while:
https://rankings.infogenix.com/report.pl?domain=utahseo.com&clientid=50
We developed it in-house and LOVE working out the bugs.
Rankings are dead, have been for quite a while now, at least as far is Google goes. Traffic by keyword is the only reliable metric for now and but that is becoming more difficult to measure (thanks again Google!)
