Innovation. Mobile. Community. Social. All words that come to mind when I think of Snapchat. Well, now a new word is creeping in… a word so disruptive to the Snapchat ecosphere that I’m going to bold it, then repeat it. Support. Yes, support.
Moz has always been a customer-centric company. We innovate, and you enjoy. Moz is ready to take it further than ever. Support+Snapchat is going to change how you talk to us and learn about the Moz products. Now read the following emotionally driven marketing copy to get a better sense of our new (industry-changing) means of support...
Move the needle on the go. Using Moz on the go with a desktop-based browser and have a question about Local Rankings? Just hold your phone up to your other screen and send us a snap of your issue. Make sure to shout loud enough. We love to hear you.
Why boil the ocean? This is easy. Sleek. And, dare we say, innovative. It's like chat, but it completely disappears. You just need your phone and a crippling support issue.
A team of unicorns. We've "transitioned" the zebras and horses to unemployment. We now only have unicorns. They will be blowing you away while helping with your support needs. Get ready to puke rainbows, folks.
Game-changing privacy. NSA. FBI. CIA. NYPD. Google. Illuminati. They're all watching. Feel secure that your in-depth support explanations will disappear soon after you receive them. You won't have to worry about anyone knowing that you couldn't find an export button without our help.
Don't open the kimono. Keep it clean. Unicorns are sensitive. Think of Moz's Snapchat as your sweet old grandmother's mailbox. The one those old Scholastic books she ordered for you always arrived in. Don’t tell her you didn't read them.
Now reach out. Feel the disruption in the Support Force. Send a Snapchat to moz_help. And welcome to Support 4.0.
For some reason I have an urge to play this song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYMD_W_r3Fg
Funny enough The Who is my 3rd favorite band. :) Best album = Who's Next.
I was already waiting for a Blog-Post like this today.
But when I was outside shouting for your Local-Ranking help there were some people coming with a strange kind-of vest where I kind-of hugged myself.
You better try this in some areas where not so many people come along.
Yell it proudly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGIY5Vyj4YM
This is a most clever exhibition of customer support. I've garnered the hearts of clients by riding a pony to and fro their homes/places of business. Sure, it takes much longer, but, selfishly, it gives reason to wear my spats, which unfortunately have fallen out of fashion in recent years…fools! But, I digress.
Hahahaha "NSA. FBI. CIA. NYPD. Google. Illuminati. They're all watching. Feel secure that your in-depth support explanations will disappear soon after you receive them."
Missed opportunity for #YOLO, however.
It's there. Watch the video to the end. =)
Damn it - nearly fell for this one! ('twas sitting there thinking "there are so many flaws with this"...idiot) I suppose the unicorns gave it away in the end, and the fact that Rand's bit at the end was creepy...why are you talking in such a quiet voice, and sooo slowly?! Love the fact that companies now get involved in April Fools. Good on you Moz
Getting Rand to talk slowly and quiet was not an easy thing to do. He does Whiteboard Fridays in one take, these two lines probably took 10 takes. :)
Great April Fools! However, a team of unicorns would be cool the have. I vote for MozUniCorn (MUC) a new mascot!
Really good article. Very useful and simple.
When I first landed on this page I was having the doubt that it's an April Fool prank but it is damn real!! :p
I love it, thanks for sending me a picture back. Even though I caused you to use the Dr.'s Therapy Ball!
Best in geek world april's fools joke I've seen :D Greetings from PL
Classic! I had to share this one with a few of my friends. Well played, MOZ.
You can't fool Gmail ;) Haha
So strange! Looks like an artifact of an earlier version of the post... it didn't show in the preview on our site, so it slipped through. Good thing we usually have absolutely nothing to hide -- we're obviously not the best at keeping secrets! =)
Nice to see Moz have a go at the April Fools videos. It's such a great opportunity for fun viral marketing. :)
Great post :D I fell for it after reading the title somehow it turns out to be one April Fool Joke :p
Ah, life in Australia ... where the day goes on ... and on ... and ON ... haha
"Now read the following emotionally driven marketing copy" OK, that got an actual real laugh.
It brought tears to my eyes as I typed it too.
Hi Mrs. Sayers, let me post the song The Beatles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrkwgTBrW78 Its resumes the Innovation Mobile & General Community Social MOZ!! Great!!
wow nice man...
Brilliantly written! I have to admit, I was fooled for a minute! Only a minute though *ahem*
I can't believe it, it sound too good to be true. Say it clrealy at least once that it is not an April Fool prank Please!
Very good!
The insurance unicorns do a good job.
They are a helluva team.
Ah, finally! We've all been waiting for Snapchat support.
#innovation
We live in the future!
Awesome idea guys. Actually, probably the best customer-centered idea I've read recently. This will be a lot more fun, lot more safety... But one question, what if you miss the snap?
I mean like someone saw it but a bug enters his eye and the video/pic is over? ^_^
Good day,
P.S. Don't mind the last question, I almost forgot you have a team of unicorns. Stupid me :)
EDIT: Spelling
Yes. The Unicorns Nikola. Don't ever forget them. Someday they will be gone :'(
:( :( :( :(
I don't know whether to be super excited and give it a whirl or prepare myself for utter disappointment if it's an April Fools joke...
Prepare for utter disappointment... :|
This is the first time that Rand's looking at "the wrong camera", so i guess is a prank.
It will be really helpful... Thanks Moz for this new innovation :)
great idea sir keep it up!
I don't think it's so funny as prank, who can really believe in a support that you can't almost read twice?
To be honest I wouldn't have used the Apple's tone for the TV ads, but I'd have rather made a joke on the support service that you can't save or read again when you don't understand.
Moz Snapchat Support: if you aren't smart enough to get our support in a snap, well, f@#*k you, loser!
We'd never say "f@#*k you" to anyone. :( We usually stick with "I love you" with a huge bear hug and maybe, just maybe, a peck on the cheek. We also think everyone is a winner. No losers here.
Thanks for the feedback. Hope your April 1st goes smoother.
it was joke ;) because I thought that none can find useful a support on a platform such as Snapchat, but I think was wrong!
This community found it awesome and I was the villain who was saying that was a prank! They placed more thumb down to my post than to those ones under the category "Hey Rand, great post!" that in other words, "Hey Rand, I haven't read a single word, but however, it's a great post, because I will get a point to comment here!
:(
For the next year, have you planed anything yet? My suggestion: make a prank with Google and announce a new feature to push up sites with your thumb on a smartphone's display. It will be a sort of floppy birds where you have to push up your link to conquer the SERP.
My two cents
