Four star links:
- Sure, people poke fun at Rand's coinage of the term "linkerati," but this chart proves that frequent social readers are more likely to link to/share viral content.

Best of YOUmoz:
We had a lot of great YOUmoz entries this week! I'll share the top 3:
- Learning SEO: A List of SEO Audio. For his first YOUmoz post, Flying Monkeys shares a list of some great SEO interviews and tips that appeal to our aural learners. Way to think outside the box and offer up some nice audio resources!
- Small Business SEO: Content Strategies. Rishil is at it again--this time he shares some questions to ask your client in order to come up with some content strategies for small businesses. He's certainly building up an arsenal of valuable SEO posts--thanks, Rishil!
- Google Refuses to Penalize Me for Keyword Stuffing. Darren Slatten shares an interesting experiment he conducted. Basically, he tried to spam the crap out of his SEOmoz profile in an attempt to drop it down from the #1 spot on a search for "world's greatest seo." It didn't work, but the case study is both amusing and quite valuable. Thanks for spamming us, Darren!

Good lineup Rebecca, thanks for pulling it all together. The Algebra one should have 4 stars in my opinion - the amount of work that must have gone into that study is phenomenal... but you da boss.
I'm seriously not well today, so if anyone wants to give me some sympathy thumbs I think they might help my recovery. Poor me.
Great list, SEOmoz is really one of my favorite sites and one of the few I enjoy everytime I visit. I loved the SEMI article.
A good round up as usual.
The linear algebra link made me throw up in my mouth a little. Too much for a Friday morning (after a night out at the bar).
Awesome roundup Rebecca.
How i ever lived without an advanced vector space model is beyond me. Thanks for bringing that into my life.
I especially appreciated the link about stress. Excellent justification for booking my first vacation in 4 years. Just think how relaxed and stress free I would be if I went on vacation more often.
Thanks a lot Rebecca for including my article in your weekly roundup. It's always a pleasure to read it, but for me of course this time especially. Thanks to the commenters here also who enjoyed to read the headline article. Btw. feel free to comment on condomunity too ;)
Great post Rebecca. Honestly I don't know where you found the time.
on the linear algebra....
"since ||UksiT||2= ||siT||2 for the orthogonal matrix Uk, and ||siT||2=||si||2."
Wow, if that doesn't get you excited... (my glasses fog up just looking at it! or is it my eyes glazing over?)
For those of you that have slide rule holsters, enjoy!
And my personal fave is the SEMI article. I am hacking my competitors site to implement the entire list.... ;)
Rand actually does a great job sending me a list of links every week. I keep track of interesting links too, but oftentimes when I'm really busy I get him and the rest of my coworkers to pull through for me. SEOmoz members email me some interesting stories, too! It's a collaborative effort--I just do the grunt work. :)
The writing good titles was an excellent write up! So condoms are most expensive in Ireland AND if your Irish Catholic or a strict Catholic you don't believe in contraceptives....NOW I understand my girlfriends VERY LARGE family.
much love rebecca! I think the community responded pretty well for calls for posts eh? Excellent. And I keep writing, cause I get responses, makes its worth the effort.
@Darren I want to be the worlds greatest SEO now, move over.
Oh nice so the saga continues!
But did you notice the third result,
Did you even think I was going to give some link love to that enemy post of ours? So what if it would have been nofollowed?
So this kind of adds the third angle to the story. Now you also have the e. empire. So SEO guys get your light sabers out. We have a war to fight! (Just kidding. Me and war? I am just a good kid.)
And by the way, Rishil is this something about on page factors Vs. Anchor text observation in this post?
I don't understand a good half of that algebra article, but love the headline article. Great list, as usual.
Nice link round up Rebecca!
This first line of this comment shows how much creativityI have :o)
Hey Rebecca, good job.
Did you show Nick the linear algebra article? I'd love to hear his insight on it.
Another great roundup. Thanks Rebecca. Love this quote from SEMI
What great advice (snigger)!
In reference to the self-linking trend, the concern for pageviews to impress Advertisers as metrics become more public and advertisers become more concerned about ROI, especially given the increasing success of Adblockers and PopUp Blockers. These factors are probably prompting many large sites to use every available tactic to get more PV. This is also limiting the adoption of AJAX because of the fear it will harm their PageViews. But the analogy he gave about TechCrunch may be incorrect, as they do link to other sites they are referencing.
That "Headline writing" story is not a 5-star one. It's a 10 star. What a great article.
