New Yorker Licensing Cartoons Online

The New Yorker magazine, which I read from time to time on vacation or long plane trips, has an online site - CartoonBank.com - that allows users to browse through their tens of thousands of cartoons (sorted by subject) and purchase licensing rights to use them for presentations, websites, brochures, packaging, etc.

It's not only a great marketing idea from the copyright owners, it's also a nice way to share the cartoons via the web. Just think of all the links to particular cartoons that will pop-up over the years. This is one of those SEO techniques where the folks who made it probably don't even realize what a smart move they've made. Now... if they'd only make the URLs friendly.
