Am I crazy, or do multiple linkdomains at MSN actually produce sensible results? Check out this search:
(linkdomain:seomoz.org | linkdomain:threadwatch.org | linkdomain:seo-scoop.com)
I think it's showing sites that link to any of those domains, not all three, but still interesting. Someone should play around with the operators some more and see - I think MSN is relatively unguarded about showing link information.
Thanks to squiet for the tip!
Wow, it works:
https://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=linkdoma...
The first results link to both sites.
Possible uses of this:
* uncovering competitors' link networks? * finding "easy" link partners who are already linking to multiple related sites?
I can't think of any others right now...
Yeah, I kinda agree with the people who say this isn't too earth shattering, but there's gotta be a killer use for this in some very definite circumstance.
These and many more extended functions launched with their new Windows Live Search.
Check out the "Search Macros" to see what others have done with these functions. You can find more info on what functions are available and how to use them here.
These features were announced a few days ago at ETech.
I'm not sure why it would be useful, but I'm also not sure why it would be surprising. You are asking for this or that or the other thing. And so it is showing you anything that matches either this or that or the other thing.
Now, I can see how it would be useful if it were using the AND operator instead of the OR operator. Because then, you could see who links to all three - a common denominator set of links would at least be interesting.
But perhaps I'm missing something - which wouldn't surprise me with all the pain meds I'm on. :)
