I visited Design Public, an online furniture & gift store, on a whim last night. Low and behold, I've discovered that their online presence is doing literally everything right...

I can't find on the site who their SEO or web developer is, but to whoever they are - bravo! This is exactly how the web should work.

Attempt to link to above URL... Bad spammer. You should know better.
I am a developer who is very keen on seo architecture in online sytems. I know this is an old post, and with reading alot of your current ecommerce Q&A's, is it a fair conclusion that while there are many ways to work with product urls within multiple categories (canonical tags, robots, clever sitemap files) ecommerce urls should strive to achieve a single product url, which omits any category information e.g.;
www.domain.com/bath/accessories/yellow-duck-large - avoid
www.domain.com/toys/yellow-duck-large - avoid
www.domain.com/yellow-duck-large - strive for
Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Scott.
Did you add anything to your cart and go to checkout? You get the "mixed" secure and non-secure dialog box warning.
Good but not perfect.
Sorry about that, Sorvoja! And thanks, Dr. Byte - too much Turkey last night I guess.
How about a link to their site?
I like the clean look.

This is a great Ecommerce site indeed. They definitely have some good SEO advices behind that. A point that I really like is that they have managed to have a "fresh content" part on the home page thanks to the blog section. Fresh content (as text) is often missing from Ecommerce sites, the way they do it is just great!
