Greetings to you, fans of SEOmoz. A merry All Hallow's Eve to you and yours.
.
Chester A. Arthur here to present the winners of this Draw Roger contest. When Joel asked me to step in and write this for him, I was, at first, beguiled! Why would I, the 21st present of these United States, be a fit author to such an auspicious announcement?
I may only have been president a short time, but I believe my fine political track record and honorary doctorate in both Art and Robotics gives me the necessary credentials to deliver this fateful news.
But first, I've got an extra special announcement. SEOmoz has started their very own Pinterest account where we've set up a board just for these submissions. You can see all the entries here. (And don't forget to join us in the Pinterest-y fun.)
Now, without further ado, I deliver unto you:
The Winner of SEOmoz's First Annual Draw Roger Contest!
The winner of the adult group is Nicholas L. from Minneapolis, MN. Congratulations!
For second place...
Tamsin S. from London
And, in an unprecendented fashion, we have a tie for third place!
Chris L. from Philidelphia, PA
and Bruno R. from Madrid
The Winner of the Bairns!
Everett N. from Fargo, ND
Your second place winner is...
Tenesea B. from Edmonton, AB
And the third place winner:
Elias N. from Fargo, ND
We'll be emailing all of you soon to let you know about your prizes!
Thanks for participating in the first ever Draw Roger Contest. We had a ton of fun seeing all your entries, and we were awed by your incredible artistic talents. They warmed Roger's robotic heart!
I thought this contest was a great, fun idea and I am so happy to see some of the drawings by kids. My favorite one is the red crayon drawing. It totally captured the essence and spirit of Roger I think. My son Joshua also did a drawing but we didn't get it submitted in time. Still I thought it would be fun to share so I am posting it here https://www.flickr.com/photos/66406919@N05/8142921308/ . Love you Roger!
Thank you so much for sharing this! That's an excellent drawing. :)
Thanks Jenn! I didn't have the heart to tell him I didn't get it submitted in time. You'd think I would have considering how much time I spend logged in to SEOMoz. :-) Glad you like it.
WOW Nicholas's and Tamsis's are fantastic!! Bruno's is just simply epic with the anime style!! They were seriously amazing!
CONGRATS!!
Great job Chris. The Search Church looks a bit ominous back there.
Thanks Anthony! It does look a little scary, huh? :)
Thank you so much guys!Love all the other entries, specially Tamsim's!
I'm really proud, thanks for all the support!!!
Sweet Pic! Congrats!
Very cool. Though I kinda feel like spots 1 and 2 should be flipped. Both are great but the hand sketch looks like it would require a lot more talent.
Totally agree. Tamsin's actually kind of looks like it's a photograph of a Roger doll made out of hair (which would also deserve a win).
Have to admit I'm most excited for Tam (one of our honored one's from Cre8asiteforums). Very happy for her. Who knew she could draw too?
Contest was/is a GREAT idea and looked like tons of fun!
It looks great, but no matter how it was drawn, that grumpy cat in a sea of rainbows and happy is what really did it for me. Entries were awesome all around, other than mine, which was a sleep-deprived fit of insanity.
wow!! congrats to Bruno, our office drawing master :))
Awesome winning entries, the second place image is amazing!
Here's what I came up with: https://imgur.com/QF881 :P
I was looking forward to all the entries and they are all GREAT - ecpecially from the little ones ;-).
Pinterest board is followed!
The kids drawings were the best!
It was very difficult to decide on these. I had the whole company vote and any ties were decided by Derric the art director. It was all very democratic. :)
All the entries were absolutely amazing. Thank you to everyone who sent in their drawings.
Also, don't forget to check out our Movember team: https://www.seomoz.org/blog/moz-movember. Specifically this handsome devil: https://us.movember.com/mospace/3577229
It's Bruno R.'s for me, and Tenesea B.'s! :D
Great job to all who have submitted.
Haha! Nice contest ;)) Tenesea B. from Edmonton, AB is definitely WIN :)
All pictures are amazing & beautiful! I also think that picture drawn by Tamsin should deserve No.1 spot. The pictures drawn by children are so cute!
Omg, Tamsin's second place entry is just awesome.I really worked hard on drawing Roger in the 80's with an afro, walking besides the garage of the Page residence.
But didn't make it on time :(
Hey Yoav, I had a drawing that didn't make it one time either. Can you post it anyway? We'd all love to see it!
Haha! Let's arrange a contest of our own and give each other prizes.
Great job folks. Now this is what I call a community!
great contest. wish I had the artistic ability shown above
super cute! congrats to all involved!
Great stuff, really cool and inspired For me though , Roger created from a mosaic of children's pics from that Kars4kids charity was mad awesome ,creative and just seemed right for such a lovable dude like Roger My wife was Gaga over the Handbag from duct tape by those same folks, she's working on her own bag now Couldn't believe they didn't make it to winners list
I have gone through all the drawings. I think this is fairly good decision. Like to see the roger in may ways. Good work done by all the participants.
Congratulations to all Winers!! :)
I think I'm jumping on the bandwagon of "the second place entry is the best."
It's great to see the engagement in these contents, you guys are talented artists!
Wow. Great pics everyone!
Didn't even know about this contest, wish I would've though. Congrats to the winners and everyone else that participated. I really liked the second one.
Lol, that's some decent art. Great job winners :).
Tenessa B has a real interesting interpretation on Roger
I love the second placed one. It reminds me a little of the Simpsons episode where Homer wanders into the 3d world.
Wow some awesome pictures! What a lovely idea and a lot of fun. Well done everybody :)
The SEER one is my favorite :)
Aw shucks. Thanks. The 2nd place winner is personally my fav. 1st place and 3rd place tie reminded me of anime which is sooo awesome too!
Very very Congrats Chris Le. You are the 2nd winner on SEOmoz Community :)
Wow! The quality of those winning entries is staggering.
I love Tamsin's! It's simple, but with a very lifelike look. Great job to everyone!
Wow! Awesome entries - Congrats to the winners, specially the little ones -- great talent in the making!
Congratulations to ArcStone's own Nicholas Longtin for the 1st Place honors!
