Todd (stuntdubl) has called out some of his least favorite lies from potential or new SEO/M clients in a new thread at SEW. I particularly love:

I'm new to SEO (on third SEO company)
I have a great business idea (but no money)
I'll help write content (twice a year)
I have a great business model (selling MLM loans)
It's not an affiliate site (it's a "reseller site")

As much as it makes me laugh, this is a reality of the business. For every customer who complains of slimy, underhanded SEO companies, there are an equal number of decent SEOs who have to deal with nefarious clients.
