There's a fascinating (and yes, non-search related) article at MSNBC (whom I've never linked to before) on research conducted to test if people could "see", even when blinded. The test showed incredible results that strongly suggest that humans do have the ability to intelligently perceive visual stimuli, even without the aid of eyesight. I find this kind of thing remarkable, especially after a 75 hour work week...
