Today we are thrilled to announce version 3 of the MozBar browser extension. The SEO toolbar is now available for Chrome users. Expect the Firefox version to be available in a few weeks.
What is the MozBar?
The MozBar is a free browser extension that provides on-page access to Moz’s link metrics and site analysis tools. Over the years it has gained a very popular following and saved a ton of time for SEO’s and Inbound marketers alike. Whilst there are certain features that are only available to Pro subscribers, we try to keep as much as possible free. We think this is the TAGFEE thing to do, plus it really helps people as possible to get acquainted with our brand and our tools.
The MozBar, since its inception in 2008, solves three main problems for its users:
- SERP analysis
- Site/competitor research
- Link profile analysis
Here’s how those features work in version 3!
SERP analysis
As you search Google, Yahoo or Bing, the MozBar instantly shows you valuable statistics about each of the results you see. This new version of the MozBar makes deconstructing SERPs faster than ever.
Create search profiles for different engines and locations
If you are working in local search, the MozBar allows you to create search profiles for specific regions and cities. This allows you to easily switch between a search for "pizza" in Chicago and Seattle without changing your search query.
Export the SERP to a CSV
As you search, easily export into a CSV key data about each SERP including:
- URL
- Page Title
- Description
- Detailed link metrics
See Moz authority and search metrics next to each search result
You'll get an overview of the most important statistics for each result on a SERP without even having to click through to those results.
Site/competitor research
This is another area where we've added a significant number of improvements, from on-page analysis to new structured data and markup detection.
See Moz authority and link metrics
For every URL you visit, the MozBar instantly shows you the link metrics at the top of the page, including MozRank, Domain Authority, subdomain metrics and more.
Highlight followed, nofollowed, external, and internal links
Easily spot which links are followed or nofollowed without having to dig through source code.
See important page attributes and elements on the page
The page analysis tools make up some of the strongest features of the MozBar. They allow you to perform an instant on-page audit of any URL you visit. With just a couple of clicks, instantly see important on page factors like title tags, meta description, canonical tags, page load time, HTTP status and more.
Link profile analysis
Detailed information about a page's inbound links, including quick comparisons to the site's domain and subdomain, are available at a glance.
What's new in version 3?
Those of you familiar with the MozBar will notice that version 3 has a new look and design. The redesign is a result of a bunch of customer and design research and has been optimized around the tasks and use cases it is designed to solve. It is also much faster and more reliable. Some exciting new features for v3 include:
See social activity
No more hunting for that social sharing bar on pages you visit: MozBar now includes social statistics from Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ right on the page.
Validate and preview semantic markup
You'll get an at-a-glance look at any semantic markup present on a page. Want to make sure a Twitter card is properly set up? No need to send a test tweet; just preview it in the MozBar.
View keyword difficulty on the SERP
One of our most-requested features was the ability to make it easier to check keyword difficulty. Now you can get a keyword's difficulty on the fly for any search query with a click of the button, right from the search page.
Note: This feature is only available to Pro subscribers.
Pro tip: MozBar obscuring your page? Hit Shift+Ctrl+Alt+M to show / hide the bar!
If you already have the MozBar installed, you don’t need to do anything. The Chrome Store will update to the new version automatically. If you don't already have it, download it at the link above!
Or maybe you are feeling a bit nostalgic? Check out how the MozBar has evolved over the years! (And what better way to travel back in time than with old screenshots and a cool gradient overlay?) :-)
Looking for the Firefox version?
We are still ironing out some last-minute issues in the Firefox version, and will launch it as soon as it's ready. For now, don't worry; you can still use version 2.65.
Firefox Update - August 2015
Mozilla recently announced some architectural changes to the browser. One part of this is the deprecation of the current way Firefox handles Add-Ons and Extensions in favor of a new model that promises to be based on the WebExtensions framework used by Google Chrome. This is great news for the MozBar as we anticipate being to support the latest version of the MozBar across Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Microsoft Edge with a single version meaning better browser support and faster development. After several unsuccessful attempts at getting the latest MozBar approved for Firefox, we are still stuck at 2.65, but these changes will allow us to bring new features like Spam Score, Keyword Difficulty and Rich Snippet Analysis to Firefox! For this reason we have decided to halt all Firefox development of the MozBar until these changes have taken place, which Mozilla anticipates as "a few months". Read more here.
Yay it's perfect, really. Except I can't close it...or move it...and therefore it's pushed all of my tabs on GDocs below the screen where I can't use them...so I erased MozBar instead.
I don't know who would come up with such a useful SEO bar, that makes all common SEO documents useless at the same time...but they obviously didn't think it through. At least the old one had the arrows to change the location and the on/off button...well done, but not really, you can't force anyone to use anything by giving them less option..my entire office here at Rocket Internet also uninstalled.
I am sorry to hear that your first experience with the new MozBar. Currently we do have a known issue with render some pages and G-docs is one of them, which is one of the reasons we implemented an on/off feature for the MozBar, you can utilize it by:
- Hitting the blue "M" icon on your upper right: https://screencast.com/t/7PpEamBQ OR:
- Use the nifty shortcut we put in by hitting ctrl+alt+shift+M (sounds like a cheat code..I know)
I hope that helps! I included your issue with Gdoc into our set of issues to be looked at, thanks for your feedback!
Completely agree with AB road. I came close to removing it myself after many years of use. I don't want a persistent toolbar that gets in the way of the page I'm viewing.
Did anyone actually test this thing on real users before launch?
Hi guys,
There are certain sites that the MozBar will simply not work on - Google Docs is one of them.
Rather than continue to fight this, we have made the MozBar easier to turn on and off - by either clicking the Moz icon in the the top right, or using the keyboard shortcut.
We have been using this internally for a while and feel this is the best all round solution and after a while fits very well with the workflow - have you tried this?
Obviously we may not have got this decision right, but we saw this as a better way to combat the compatibility issues.
Let us know if this changes anything?
Thanks
Jon
But how do I set the default to 'off'? The moment I reopen my browser, the bar is back again on all tabs. I do not want that, and the M works for a session, but not for the next.....Is the only way really to disable in the browser settings? That is so cumbersome, I doubt I will use it, then.
Good point. I find this frustrating too. Every time I open Chrome the MozBar is switched back on. It should remember your last setting and apply it when you reopen the browser again!
Jon, tell you how I feel about this toolbar, it takes larger space than it should! For limited features like PA or DA, why taking such a large box and making it inconvenient for searchers! Another point is the color, it is a strong contrast to the while background! Hope you guys could wear my shoes, LOL!
MozBar has some cool features and it is a handy tool to analyze websites. Just click the Blue ‘M’ icon on toolbar to switch ON/OFF. You can also go in browser settings > Extensions to enable / disable it when needed. I noticed that while using email through RoundCube it was causing page load issues, but may be this was only at my end or will resolve soon. Thanks for the updated MozBar.
AHHH!!! I can't send attachments in gmail... I don't need this thing in gmail anyway. How do I make it go away?
I can't send emails with this damn thing installed. I really love a lot of the new features, but it's too much of a pain in the ass to have in my browser. I had to get rid of it.
Please update us when this is fixed, so that I can have it installed and use the Internet effectively at the same time. Thanks!
Hey guys!
Sorry to hear the page rendering issues are making your first day experience a bit rough. Like Jon mentioned in his previous answer (with an English accent), we are definitely aware of some sites that are not rendering correctly. To alleviate that pain a bit, we have made the Mozbar to have a convenient on/off switch, you can simply:
- Hit the icon above to turn the Mozbar off, which will keep the extension off even through exiting the window. Or
- You can use our handy dandy keyboard short cuts, we have added a special pro-tips inside your settings menu, check out this screenie: https://screencast.com/t/9XodyIOK
I hope that helps! We not done just yet with the redesign, in the incoming months we will be looking to add additional improvements, so we want to thank you for your feedback!
~Peter
I like the Mozbar itself and have used it for years. Me and my team use it a lot, every day, mostly the page analysis functionality. We think the new design is incredibly annoying. It takes up way to much space in the browser window and was much better when it was a little box on the right side. Also grey font on black background is very distracting. We want to be able to go through lots of pages at speed, and that was easier before. Except for one thing: I really like that it can stay folded out as you navigate through pages, you don't have to click on it again on every page. It seems to load the information faster too. So that's good. But please move it back to the side!
Hey Emma! Have you tried using the on/off functionality? Either clicking the [ M ] button in the top right, or using the keyboard shortcut (Cmd + Option + Control + M on OSX,Shift + Ctrl + Alt + M on Windows).
This quickly shows / hides the MozBar.
Jon, do you think that the fact that you need to explain this functionality suggests that it may not be as intuitive as you had originally hoped?
Here are some snippets from my office's chat log.
"(10:53 AM) Nicholas χειμώνας: Am I being thick or is there no way to move the mozbar from the top of the screen to the side of the screen?
(10:53 AM) Amy Merrill (T3: TeamSharkLion): we couldn't find a way to do it on team3

(10:57 AM) Larisa Speers: dealbreaker!
(10:58 AM) Mary Brady (T3 Pod1: LAZER BEARZ): I usually have my Chrome zoomed out to a ridiculousness point, which makes the mozbar a little smaller, so if that would help anyone...there's my trick.

(10:58 AM) Andrew Heikkila (T3 SHARK/LION): This is super random, but pertains to nich's drunk comment: If anybody is free tonight Jordan and I will be performing at the Shredder at some point tonight, doors at 7, show probably closer to 8. Come kick itttt

(10:59 AM) Cody Cahill (Rebel Yell): What's the problem with it being up at the top (aside from the Google Doc issue)?
(10:59 AM) Mary Brady (T3 Pod1: LAZER BEARZ): It was kinda blocking my cat gifs, Cody...
(10:59 AM) Nicholas χειμώνας: Google Doc issue. Gets in my way, harshes my buzz
(10:59 AM) traymond (Pagelings): they have to click an M bar...
(10:59 AM) Larisa Speers: It just makes me uncomfortable
(10:59 AM) Nicholas χειμώνας: I'm locked in to a 2 year long habit of having the bar uninvasively at my side
(10:59 AM) Larisa Speers: me too
(10:59 AM) Nicholas χειμώνας: now it wants to rule my world at the top of my browser and I hate it
(10:59 AM) Amy Merrill (T3: TeamSharkLion): ^
(11:00 AM) Casey Scott (T3 Pod: Castle Hyrule): I like it on the side. why can't I just click and drag it where I want it? hmm? why can't it be that simple? but no! https://i.imgur.com/1FGvaFq.gif
(11:00 AM) Mary Brady (T3 Pod1: LAZER BEARZ): JK, but I think itw as because I was used to it being at the right
(11:00 AM) Cody Cahill (Rebel Yell): You people need to learn to adapt to change.
(11:00 AM) Colby: Did it auto update? Cause I still have the old one...
(11:00 AM) Larisa Speers: i clicked on that gif, and mozbar had the nerve to cut off a portion of michael's head
When Mozbar begins to ruin my .gifs, I get upset.
Thanks for sharing - very insightful! Fix going out later today.
Thanks for fixing :] Internet marketers are a picky bunch, attention to detail and all that.
Fix is out. Might take a while to update.
Has this fix been released? I uninstalled Mozbar and reinstalled, still do not see an option to dock the bar to the side of the screen. Haven't been able to use it at all since the update, real bummer.
Hey Danny - yes I agree. Oversight on our part. We are trying to push an update out today.
I liked the box too but overall I'm really pleased w/ the new bar.
Similar to others, this toolbar has been a staple of mine (and my team) for years, but we have all now uninstalled it. The new look was distracting and over bearing on the eyes, it was not very intuitive to shut it down... even after we did, it would come back and show up again and again, which was quite annoying. Instead of floating in the browser header with the drop down that you could move....it was awesome... and added to your research. Now it simply overpowers the page.
Given how transparent Moz is with the community about its business (which is incredible), maybe major product updates like this can be rolled out to the community as beta (because unlike many products, the community here as a whole is way more open and willing to contribute feedback.. we all love moz)... and that way it becomes more of a positive experience of support vs. a jarring feeling that you get when a staple tool in your arsenal dramatically changes... in some cases for the worse.
For me ... and my team.... its more about how intrusive the new mozbar seems to be... in addition to the colors. I preferred the bar quietly in the background not overpowering things. Flexible and available as I need it. It was a value add to my day to day research... this feels like its the main feature of the browser now. Its no longer subtle.
In terms of being able to shut it down at the top right... my two cents would be... if you have to consistently tell people how to close your add on.... then you probably still have some serious work to do before pushing it live to production.
Look forward to seeing when changes happen and getting it back to being a staple tool in the arsenal.
Hope this helps a bit.
Already loving it.
The Mozbar since its first beginnings was an incredibly useful great-little tool.
Obviously, it is a tool especially meant for first glance analysis, but over the years I found it extremely useful also while I was conducting in-depth sites' audits.
Finally, for all the people like me who is involved daily with International SEO tasks, finally having the opportunity to specify also regions and cities in other Googles than the .com is something very appreciated. I was waiting for this feature since a long time.
This news is really good - just thinking out loud right now - also for having a better idea of localization issues (i.e.: we are maybe performing well in New York, but not so well in Seattle) and, if we can access with our clients' Google userid and password, we can have a 100% trustable view of what the clients are seeing (and so being more able to explain things better).
Hi Moz,
Looks great with all those features most our office are Firefox users so will be waiting for a bit it seems. The major problem I've got with it is that the Moz bar used to blend in a bit with the grey and now you've decided a really dark colour that stands out and distracts is better and I'm not sure why as for me I can't stand it.
This is just my opinion and I'm sure some people will love it but i find it distracting. Be nice if you could add options to change the colour so it blends in with a white background like most people use. Maybe i missed the option to do it if someone wants to point it out.
Criticisms aside its really great so well done on all the hard work
Hey Chris, I'm with you on this, I really don't like this grey/white over black background. This impacts the readability I think, other than that all looks great, good job!
Loving it. : )
Usability: Just make white fonts bright green, and gray fonts white.
No gray on black.
This is a really nice update. Thanks!
I like it! Here are the reasons why:
thank you! We love feedback like this :)
I'll be honest: It's useful, but it's a pain on the eyes. The gray on black just doesn't work. Make all the font green or change the background to blue IMO.
Adding in structured markup analysis is going to save a lot of time--thanks for adding in that functionality.
I am very disappointed specially when i am using chrome. Now what i don't like is the bright dark grey color.
The color makes me distract and the width of the rectangle box covers all the top 10 results.
The old one was much better, however you can come up with design improvements
1) The toolbar is really causing a big problem, but it can be solved by making it transparent grey
2) Same can be done for the top 10 results where the color needs to be light and you can still make the boxes a bit transparent so that it doesn't distract.
I do like free Moz tools, its great but today I got distracted a lot.
I hope in the coming days i may see something good for sure!
Have you tried using the on/off feature? Hit the [ M ] button in the top right, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Shift + M
Nice update guys.
One bug I've noticed is that the SERP analysis export download doesn't get identified as a CSV file, so you need to manually add the file extension after download (could just be me?).
Would also be very useful if it was possible to configure results per page in the search profiles to make it easy to switch between a 'just browsing' profile and an 'export all the results' profile.
Hi there Ben,
That's definitely interesting.... if you don't mind can you let our help team know on our contact form at moz.com/contact/help? I am on a mac, so the recognition is almost immediate with excel. I know with G-docs, you can set up the app to do that, perhaps its a settings issue on the local machine.
Thanks for the feedback, looking forward to hearing from you.
~Peter
The same thing happened with me - Chrome on Windows 7
It works for me too when I append the file name with .csv. That being said, this export feature is amazing, and will make for excellent analysis and time savings
Same for me using Windows 8, Chrome. Hoping a patch/update will fix it but the feature isn't very important to me; if the page information didn't work however...
Super cool; this new Moz toolbar is amazing. I really like the mark up section. It will be easy now to see how good competitors are going with different markups on their pages. The social icon on top along with stats is also a good edition. And the Search Profiles is amazing too now I can easily see where I am ranking in different Local regions.
I never thought I can get all these in one single tool bar. :) Thanks to Moz team for this.
Hey Moz team,
Congratulations for the latest version of Mozbar.. I've just installed it and it's looking great. A small advice to all the fellows:
Remove the old Moz bar first then install this version.
I'm very much hopeful that all the technical problems that previous versions had will no longer be seen in this. And thank you for including the Social Activity bar, I was planning to get the HubSpot's one but don't think I'll get it now. And, when we'll see it in Firefox?
Congrats and thanks once again. :)
Great job! Congrats to Jon and the product team. I know how much effort you guys have put into getting great user feedback ;)
Hey thanks Tim! Appreciate the kind words!
Great job moz Team, Mozbar is one of the finest add on for SEO. I am loving it
This is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome. I was wondering what's going on :)
It looks better and works better than before.
I had tons of problems before the update like:
But all of these problems desapeared with the update. So I'm happy user now :D
Woot!! Always glad to hear we're making your headaches go away :)
~Peter
I'm very pleased with the new mozbar. Great job on the redesign Moz!
Incredible! This tool is great on so many levels! Organic SERP keyword analysis, OnPage & OffPage analytics. Thank you!
New design looks good guys. A couple feature requests for you:
There are other Chrome extensions that use CTRL + SHFT + ALT + M, such as Stylebot, rendering that feature unusable if there's a conflict. I'd love the ability to change that command to another keystroke in order to turn the bar on/off.
Having the SERP entries causes major lag on seeing search results load - same with normal page results pulling link metrics on every page load. I'd love the ability to turn specific features on and off like the old version had.
Hi Kane,
That is some gooood feedback! Let's get right to it:
- Customizable shortcuts: Great idea, we designed it to be a little bit of a cheat code because we know most likely users don't have those keys mapped to a function. We can definitely look at building a way of letting you folks choose the shortcut
- Turning off features: We designed most of the items on the top bar to be interactive, which means you can turn them off/on at the settings menu, you simply have to engage the checkboxes there to select which metrics you want to render (https://screencast.com/t/9XodyIOK).
I hope that helps! Thanks again for your feedback!
~Peter
Thanks, nice features. MozBar is one of my favorite. I use it in almost every project to tell clients about their website issues.
Its perfect! Thank you! Well done Moz team!
I'm really glad you're updating this - cheers Jon
It is working great!! It is also looking very sexier with green color.
Superb job Moz !!
3 Down!!
I think I was wrong. BTW, it was my personal opinion. But Green is looking awe.., without any doubt ! :)
Congratulation. I am a Firefox user so I am waiting for its Firefox version to launch soon.
The best thing in this extension is Site/competitor research.
Aleyda published an excellent article about competitors research and analysis importance few days back. So this is the perfect time to launch this version and let people do what Aleyda said.
"Page Load Time
-1401843880.897 seconds"
Wow, our site is really fast. ;)
Hi there,
Yikes! Sorry to see that, we thought we had fix this issue before the release, just so we have the site this appeared on, can you send us a support request to moz.com/help/contact? That way we can take a look and confirm it on our end?
Thanks for your time, hope to hear from you soon!
~Peter
Wow! MOZ, you never cease to amaze me.
I have to further add (in addition to darkened, unreadable data text)
You guys should start utilizing focus groups or something, offering a demographic cross section of beta testers a chance to let you know if you are making things better or worse with all your would be "upgrades".
Sorry you had this experience.
We did do user testing beforehand and this guided many of our decisions, but I hear what you are saying.
We will be coming up with a new color theme as we have had a lot of feedback on this.
No Doubt it is a Great Plug In :). But Creates lots quries in Google When we search for anything. It makes Search engine mad it starts firing captcha. kindly do some updation for that.
Looks amazing, congrats MOZ!
One suggestion from me - can you create it for Safari please? I don't like idea to run 2nd browser just to check things in SERP or link analysis.
Yes - i'm diehard Safari fan.
Haha. Dude, I have to use 3 browsers all day, not one of which is Safari. If you have the luxury of only using 1 browser, you're blessed.
This, can't swiftly test sites on 1 browser.
I LOVE the toolbar at the top of the screen IN GOOGLE... I would like to be able to easily close it when on other websites.
BUT while viewing Google Search Results I find it very helpful in determining the competition levels for keywords, and I really like how easy it is to view "non-personalized" search results THAT STUFF IS AWESOME! THANKS GUYS!
I HATE how obtrusive the bars showing PA and DA for each of the search results are. They are literally BIGGER than the ENTIRE meta description.
Please make the bars below the individual search results less obtrusive, and make the top toolbar easy to add/remove from individual pages (with a default setting of closed). That would really help perfect the updates toolbar.
Thanks!
Hi Justin,
I think that is some great feedback! I hope that you don't think that our work is done with this launch, we're already back to the drawing board in the next set of improvements for the Mozbar already and color schemes and fonts are one of the items... and Firefox!
Thanks for your time, keep the feedback coming!
~Peter
It is not working properly on Chrome. My gmail is acting up and some other websites too. When I open the Compose Email tab, "send" email button hides. Chat on Gmail is not displaying. How do I hide mozbar?
Hit the [ M ] icon on the browser toolbar, or Ctrl + Shift + Alt + M.
You can also find these instructions in the settings menu.
Thanks!
This is a great achievement for SEO consultants and Moz. I hope that this is going to be excellent plugin for my business.
Just few hours ago it's automatically updated for me :)
Thank you and Congratulations! I love the new MozBar 3.0 and the new features. However, I will throw my vote in for bringing back the ability to move the bar to the side or the bottom quickly and easily. The on/off feature is okay - good actually - but not really the same thing. Looking forward to continued improvements and tweaks...
Best,
Ron
I love the new features, but I'm a little irked I don't have as many options as I did before on when the info was hidden, especially in SERP results. I also can't turn it off in one tab and keep it on in another, it seems to be a universal change for anything I have going on in Chrome. Part of what I loved about the last version of the tool was it's ability to stay in the background until I needed to pull it up for info on a certain page. I'll still be using it as it is now, but hopefully you can add more settings to adjust its prominence in the near future.
Hey Alexis! Have you tried using the on/off functionality to show / hide? Either clicking the [ M ] button in the top right, or using the keyboard shortcut (Cmd + Option + Control + M on OSX,Shift + Ctrl + Alt + M on Windows).
Great. I have always loved the MozBar. What I like the most is the quick access to HTTP-status codes, social signals and easy validation and preview of semanctic markup. I also love the Keyword Difficulty Tools implementation, although I find those scores usually not accurate/useful. I also wrote a blog about this a while ago (https://marketinglynx.nl/seomoz-keyword-difficulty-tool-blog (it's in Dutch, but you can translate it easily in various ways)) where I suggest to multiply the score by 1.4 to get more accurate results (at least at that time in google.nl for Dutch keywords, this seemed to be the case).
I would advice you to change the color in the SERP overlay.. it's too distractive imo.
I really love the new MozBar. The one-click activation feature is really handy because it helps me to switch from a normal surfer mode to an SEO mode and vice-versa quickly. :)
Fantastic tool! I literally use it Every day and I love it..
Except it seems we've lost the functionality to move the bar around on our screens ?
I don't know if anyone else has noticed if the bar is on top of your screen (by default) and you use Google docs regularly, the spreadsheet begins to malfunction. Your mouse isn't precise and this is because of the Bar's presence, I used to easily fix this by putting the bar at the bottom which is an awesome Solution as opposed to closing and opening it every time I needed to access Google Docs.
That's going to be the only thing that pretty much bothers me about it.
Other wise Fantastic update by the Moz Team!
Hey Gary - have you tried using the on/off functionality to solve the google docs problem? Either clicking the [ M ] button in the top right, or using the keyboard shortcut (Cmd + Option + Control + M on OSX,Shift + Ctrl + Alt + M on Windows).
This quickly shows / hides the MozBar.
So the ability to move the location of the bar is a since removed feature? You can only use the bar at the top, and your sole option is to hide and unhide it all day? That seems like a pain. I would have kept the old version had I known I did not have the option to house it on the side of my screen.
Hi Nicholas - we removed a few features that were seldom used. 'dock on side' being one of them. Given that feature was designed to handle websites that were not compatible, we introduced on/off to work instead.
Do you think this would work with your workflow?
Very nice piece of work,I like it but also find it too dominating in the chosen colour format.
Probably don't use it as much as others in here, so likely to just have it switched off in general but use as and when required but not sitting in perma fashion in my browser.
But yes great
David
I do love the new Moz bar, two things I would love to see -
1. The gray on black isn't all that clear, if the grey was a lighter shade or even white it would be spot on.
2. I loved being able to move the Moz bar to the site/bottom/top, but I don't understand why you took this feature away? (And yes, I know you can switch the Moz bar off but having it off is no help!)
Having the ability to 'flip the colours', like you can when triple clicking the iPhone home button would be very handy on some darker websites.
Most of the comments are negative, as I feel!
Sorry you feel that way - would you be able to share specifics of what is not working for you?
Is it me or the highlight links won't turn off when you use it.
Amazing !!Thanks jon.white Great work.
Worst update since Windows XP to Vista.
Sorry this is not working for you, would you be able to share some things that are causing you issues?
Why do you want the feedback if you don't use it later...? It's always the same with big sites like yours, you are always asking for feedback and never do anything with it, I don't know but i believe you must say: he's just one...... bad bad bad
This is a downgrade. Bring back the old version please.
Thanks Guys
I wanted to add something to my previous critique of the data results being so totally dim and unreadable -
......what is the logic of tool icons being invisible til moused over? Why the Easter egg hunt and the unreadable text? Your designers need to be reigned in and taught the fundamental value of "user experience".
The new designer's priorities are like women wearing Gucci heels on a five mile trail hike - because they look cooler ,-\
Love the new bar, but the black background....cannot see or read the grey type....in fact....didn't even see the help or settings button, but these old computer eyes.....need to read the data!
I can't get non-personalized results. In the search profiles, I edit, check the box for non-personalized results and save. The results still personalised. And when I check back in the profiles the non-personalization box is unchecked.
Is this a known problem?
How can I fix this?
That's great news.
New Mozbar is very cool but I find, completely redesigned, shows if page has verified Authorship.
Good news!
Finally I can uninstall Firefox, I used to keep that around for using the MozBar. The Chrome plugin used to be horrible .
I usually use Firefox for seo, i'll install it only on Chrome, so its good for me so far
Ok this is quite handy. Saved me a lot of time already.
One thing, might be a bug. When I'm on Google+ and have the MOZbar on the little navigation bar (top left corner that drops down when you hover on it) disappears...
Thanks for the update! Testing it now ...
today, i ve used it, in lil time you can check all SEO points..
Looks great and works great :)
Great project! I was looking for a better SEO-analysis-at-a-glance and I think the new Mozbar is doing the job.
2 points to reconsider:
1. Add a description/explanation over each metric when hovering with the mouse, if you want more people to get involved in SEO and know your brand better. It will help amateurs (like me).
2. Also, in https sites, the small green padlock of the browser becomes yellow (not secure). Is this a bug?
Thank you.
Hi there Spyros!
I am glad that you had a great time using the Mozbar, we put a lot of work into it. As to the items for your points to consider:
1. I think that's a great idea! Our product folks will be up soon (it is late here), so I'm sure they'll be excited to hear all the feedback on this thread as the day go on!
2. In terms of this issue, I am not able to reproduce it on my end, can you do us a favor by sending your bug to our helpsters by going to our contact page at moz.com/help/contact?
Thanks for your feedback, hope to hear from you soon.
~Peter
Just sent some screenshots through moz.com/help/contact.
Regards,
Spyros
Thanks!! we'll make sure to take a look and get back to ya!
You can't read the data unless you highlight it with your mouse to make the color change.Design house, "hip", low contrast type is for art portfolios, not SEO tools ,-[
The social stats are nice - but I have to highlight that data too - lighten up the data results fonts
That's great, thank you
Great upgrade! Congratulations! But tell me please, where can I report a bug or smth?
Drop the Moz guys at email here-
https://moz.com/help/contact
or [email protected] make sure you give details of what you were doing to get a bug, what system your using and any other info that may help them recreate the bug or fix it.
Yeah, thank you!
Looks great! Much easier to use. Unfortunately it meant that my Outlook/Hotmail wouldn't load apart from about 1cm at the top. I've just used your cheat ctrl+alt+shirt+m though and it now works, so thank you!
I use Firefox as my default browser so eagerly awaiting MozBar 3.0 for Firefox. Thanks Jon for step by step explanation.
Buw where is the button to move the mozbar? My previous mozbar was at the bottom of the screen but now the new one is sticked on the top of the browser.. any method to bring it down?
Hey Maddy! Have you tried using the on/off functionality? Either clicking the [ M ] button in the top right, or using the keyboard shortcut (Cmd + Option + Control + M on OSX,Shift + Ctrl + Alt + M on Windows).
This quickly shows / hides the MozBar.
Yeah i know that! but how can i move this mozbar to the bottom? previous version has this functionality! but current version doesn't have.
Looks good, and any free updates are always appreciated! Still advocate using the dual combo of SEOQuake for Firefox and Moz for Chrome for the best of both worlds though :)
Thanks. New version looks better.
New features are very helpful.
Waiting for Firefox version.
Great work guys, installed straight away. Looks like a massive leap forward.
In the words of George Jetson, "Jane (MOZ), stop this crazy thing!!"
There is NO blue "M" in my bar to click, and the shortcut keys do not affect the bar.
Other ideas? I cannot afford to wade thru the entire list of comments here, just make it right or I will remove program.
Thank you.
Weird you do not have an [ M ] icon - could you share a screenshot of your browser toolbar to [email protected]?
Hi Moz. Nice work. But... I also do not have an "M" icon to press.
After hitting the gear icon, the instructions to toggle the toolbar are incorrect for MAC. They say to Toggle the toolbar for OSX press:
"Keyboard shortcut
OSX: Cmd+Option+Ctrl+M
Windows: Shift+Ctrl+Alt+M"
"Cmd+Option+Ctrl+M" does not work on Macbook Pro, but the Windows "Shift+Ctrl+Alt+M" does work on MAC OS.
Thanks.
Mark.

Done.
Pls help I cant get working "view keyword difficulty on the SERP" with new moz bar, i have a pro account. This is the only one of the listed features not working other wise a really excellent upgrade. Thanks bill
Thanks for this - what happend to Multiple users (https://moz.com/community/q/how-can-i-add-multiple-users-to-my-pro-account) - not sure why that is still not a priority and we keep updating the existing one. i am not against the improvement but you have to put your prioities right, surley:)
This is good news!
I was waiting for moz to jump on the superflat design thing with this one.
Any changes in how follow/nofollowed links are detected?
I've had some issues with this in the current version.
I am using MozBar 3.0 in chrome it is working fine but awaiting for Firefox.
Also waiting for firefox plugin but I think that's not updated from a long time...
Thanks Jon,
