I thought we'd try something a bit off-topic and fun today - Hunch's reader census widget. Go ahead and answer as many questions as you've got time for and we'll publish the results to learn more about the community we're all in:

I'll be returning to regularly scheduled programming tonight with my long-delayed blog post about our experience raising venture capital.
UPDATE: See the stats from this survey and how the SEOmoz community compares to the average survey taker at Hunch.
Mark the day. January 5th, 2010 the internet became Self Aware.
And it called itself "Hunch"
Not bad, the predictions were off at the beginning (6 straight wrong) but then got pretty accurate after that (8 out the next 10). Only 50% at that point, but I figure it should keep improving.
Fun....Hunch gets me wrong a lot, probably because of my multiple personality disorder :-p
thats kinda fun and once u have done a heap of them the "predictions about you" seem fairly accurate :)
What a great idea for reader engagement. I especially like how a widget such as this is a great example of the intersection between search and social. Gotta love them polls!
Hunch take me to a wrong way too... But I guess maybe it's because I am just at my turning point, so that's ok~ Funny still :)
Hi -
Fun quiz... interesting. I was in the profile picture for your readers, but hunch did not predict other answers that well -- they got 4 out of 9 correct.
Hey... thanks for your work at Inbount Marketing U., and your generous and in-depth presentations and articles like the one about Venture Funding. I can see you have done a lot of work since you spoke at SEMpdx last year. More success to you.

Haha rand it's actually really fun using it :D
Looking forward to seeing how many people ticked 'male' and 'wear make-up'. Bonytoad?
they were scarily close on me.
wonder if they can build a website around my answers for me
Oooo Hunch is pretty good - it got 21 out of 25 questions right about me... Spooky.
14 out of 15 and then I stopped...!
Or how humans are interpretated by math algorythms...
Freaky if you think of it. By collecting random data, they more or less can predict your actions. Imagine what Google could do with a more advanced system like this and all the data they have.Talking about targeted advertising!
Some of them were funny questions. So what does our skin - oily or dry - tell you about us? haha
I wondered that too. Plus living in Denver where the air is SUPER dry, of course I have dry skin. I don't want the internet judging me because of the abundance of lotion I have to put on every day.
** edited to fix my horrible grammar
I'm "uncommon" because I want to give back to the community and don't watch t.v. Scoundrel! :)
Very nice indeed... and quite addicting.
Honestly I was wondering why "having a cat", "having two children" or being more a "giver" are uncommon answers.
Anyway I'm proud I could give those answers.
On the other hand Hunch it's really an interesting experiment and surely something which results will be translated to other more profitable use... ah, Hunch didn't get my conspiranoic side.
Thanks for the fun article. I did one of these over at Chris Dixon's blog and it was interesting. I think I'm a pretty complex person though, it got a load of the predictions wrong.
I am totally agree with you..

Boo Spam!
If you think of the random questions as building blocks for a road map about you it really is quite scary how many of us are quite predictable.
Just like svennemans said, imagine once you have a large amount of data and it is all aggregated just how powerful that could be for targeted advertising!
Brilliant! And really freaky, it guessed all my answers right, though I stopped at 10. But still! Math can be freaky.
Nice fun post, thanks!
