I got a nice email today from Yahoo!:
Dear Advertiser:
We would like to help you get ready for the Valentine's Day shopping season. As such, we have reviewed search logs from the previous year to identify seasonal queries that are relevant to our advertisers.

Interesting stuff on the keywords page - not at all related to our products, but a lot of good terms for those seeking to capitalize on the holiday via research & term targeting. If you're in the sector, I think you'll still have enough time to launch some fancy V-day Link Bait in time to get links and visitors.
That’s truly good news for all advertiser. Most consumers today are doing online shopping, especially on Valentine’s Day. The day we commemorate love and your Valentine may be expecting a gift. The most common gifts are flower, chocolate, jewelry and teddy bear. A lot of people are out looking for Valentine gift ideas and getting a payday loan forthese gifts.
Got one of those before Christmas, too. I read it like this:
"Dear Advertiser: we are concerned that our paid search terms for Valentines day are not going for enough dough. Please join in and push up the rates a little bit, so we can fully capitalize."
On the one hand it's nice to be reminded that there's a holiday to exploit, but on the other hand, you gotta know that this is going to push up the going CPC.
