It's with great pleasure that I introduce our newest SEOmoz team member, the incredibly talented Jane Copland. Jane's tenure at SEOmoz has only been a week, but she's already a valuable addition to our team - poring through tomes of websites, blogs and books to catch up on the fast-moving world of search.
Rebecca & Jane
Jane's first major contribution to the SEOmoz website will be an article on the in-depth practice of Social Media Marketing; an area in which she has shown terrific talent and passion. Jane is already delving into keyword research and sent out her first few link building email requests.
If all goes well, look for Jane to be contributing blog entries to the site within the next 3-4 weeks. I'm hoping she becomes as addicted to the SEO world as the rest of us.
p.s. Since Jane is SEOmoz's first international hire (she's originally from Wellington, NZ), we've taken to asking her to say words like "crikey" and "cheeky" on a daily basis, just to hear the accent, a cross between Maori, Scottish and Colonial British. We'll have to get her on a podcast sometime soon to share the fun :)
Edit from Rebecca: Jane was also an NCAA Division I swimmer, which is what brought her to the United States. (Jeff and I will pretend that she did not swim for Washington State University, so way to go, Jane!)
Funny post title, it sounds like she's a location
Welcome to Jane Copland, Nebraska - Home of the bottomless chili ranch fries!
:D
Haha, I told Rand the same thing, which prompted him to change the title.
Congratulations, Jane.
You've joined a great team of people, with a very progressive, thoughtful and charismatic boss too. I'll bet I'm not alone in wishing I'd been as fortunate in my early 20s. :)
I'll look forward to meeting you someday soon.
Thank you! I agree: This is a wonderful opportunity. Every morning, I think "gee, I can't wait to go to work"... and long may that last!
Ugh, that will wear off soon...*trust me*
(clearly I'm kidding)
I'm crying right now... I hope you're happy.
I thrive on your tears!
Congratulations, Jane.
You've joined a great group of folks, and I hope that you enjoy your time with them immensely.
Welcome, Jane -- as Bill and Ammon and others said, you're in excellent company. All the SEOmozzers I've met are super people. Have fun and work hard. :-)
Welcome Jane. So nice for Rand to have an all around chick team ;)
w00t more SEO girlz. Welcome =)
Thanks for the welcomes! I'm very much looking forward to writing some good, perhaps controversial stuff... although perhaps my candidate blog post should remain a mystery. Rand, we could have a vote after a couple of weeks to see which one the readers think is mine...
I'll bet a link that it's this one...
Anyway... welcome! :P
Jane,
Congrats! Youre joining an awesome team, which anyone would be proud to be apart of. Look forward to reading your postings on SEOMoz.
Cheers to your new career at SEOMoz,
Daniel
Hello Jane. I always love it when Rand adds members to his team. SEOmoz has a unique, um... talent, of filtering out (Top Grading) top quality talent. Can't wait for your first post!
I won't reduce you to a tumor just yet, but you could become a pain in the side (not mine, but your Bosses') by picking up where Michael Martinez left off with some nice controversial writing.
Are you going to tell us what blog post she owns? It would be nice for all of us that voted.
I'll let Jane decide... Jane, do you want to tell them which post was yours?
It's been a while but: no :D
LOL, I can just hear the new office banter now.
Welcome Aboard!
Need to make a slight change to her profile page... ah the hazards of repurposing pages ;)
Just to clarify, Jane is not Rebecca's often forgotten siamese twin...
In all seriousness, welcome aboard Jane. Look forward to your first blog post.
....she's just my attached tumor with teeth, hair, and a funny accent.
I smell a sitcom....
Ooh, ooh, call it "Twomors"!
Very cool, a scottish Britain lady. It surely is nice to use someone from a different culture for social media marketing- seeing things from a different perspective. Magnificent.
Welcome Jane. I look forward to your contributions to the community.
