Snippets from 30,000 Feet

Moz News

I'm on a plane from Newark to Seattle. It's late at night, and the first hour was spent on the ground waiting for low CIGS (low ceilings of clouds & rain) to clear. So, while I still have another 4.5 hours in front of me, I'm just grateful to be in the air. The last week was a whirlwind – although that's nothing new. For the last 4 ...

13 Things to Do When Your Loved One is Away at Conferences

Moz News

As many of you know, Rand travels quite a bit for his work, leaving me at home with Raul, the cabana boy. All is well for the first few hours, until I grow tired of Raul's deep tissue massages and the peeled grapes he insists on feeding me. After that, I tend to get a little bored and lonely. I'm assuming the other conference widows out there feel the same way, and as such, I'...

What if the Ron Paul Fans Became SEO Savvy?

Moz News

It's late, and I should be wrapping up Q+A (or at least blogging on my promised topic of the Beginner's Guide) and getting some shut eye, but I simply couldn't resist sharing some thoughts about the web-based fervor for Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul. For those who don't know, Paul's supporters are possibly the most organized and galvanized web community in the modern political spec...

Blog Comments Bug Fixes for IE7 Users

Moz News

This is just a quick update for those of you commenting on the blog via Internet Explorer 7.  Over time, more and more of you have been emailing me about JavaScript bug where when a user would click the link to add a comment to a blog post, nothing would happen and IE would tell you there was an "Error on Page," with an essentially random line number that really tells you virtually ...

A Humble Request for All SEOmoz Staff and Readers

Moz News

So far it has not been fun at all, but our first assignment is to profile a person, business, or organization. I lovingly think of SEOmoz as all three, in a way, and I knew right away that I wanted to do my article on it.

Moz News

This week we're diving into the hiring game - trying to find the people who will help us make both the free and premium content on the site even more valuable over the weeks and months to come. Jane's in charge of hiring our new customer service / office manager and Jeff's doing double-duty, seeking out both a web developer and a GUI designer. We've already received one resume that's so incredi...

My Departure from SEOmoz

Moz News

As Rand mentioned in his recent post: Big Changes at SEOmoz, I'm leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. It's been nearly 4 and a half years, which is a millennium in tech-industry time, and I feel that SEOmoz is at a point where I'm comfortable leaving. Previously, I was the only developer, designer, and systems administrator and our entire infrastructure depended on me. With Jeff, and more recently Mel, I can now leave knowing that SEOmoz is in good hands.

Big Changes Afoot at SEOmoz

Moz News

This is a tough post to write. Not because I'm not excited and not because the news I want to share isn't positive, but simply because I feel like I've been keeping something from you for the past few weeks, and I hate doing that. Of course, it's nowhere near as tough as hiding my Super Bowl engagement from Mystery Guest...
